The media marathon has officially begun

Spent the afternoon previewing the Obama Presidential Center before it opens to the public in June and I was truly impressed. Every detail of the building feels thoughtful, intentional, and informative. The views are beautiful, and I especially loved seeing the fashion display featuring Michelle Obama. One of my favorite touches was the Chicago Public Library space on the grounds, which made it feel even more connected to the community and culture of the city.

Make sure to grab tickets when they become available. Had such a great afternoon with Brittney, Jasper and Kasmer.

It’s so much happening right now from the Met Gala to summer events, launches and nonstop social media content… how do you actually stand out?

You need more than posts. You need strategy, positioning and visibility that makes people pay attention.

A moment that came back to me after watching the Michael movie, As a longtime fan, I’ve always appreciated the people behind the vision just as much as the artist. The movie went into the introduction & collaboration with Berry Gordy.

It made me think back to when I served as publicist for The HistoryMakers when they honored Berry Gordy in 2012. Having Suzanne de Passe in the room paying tribute was a powerful reminder of the legacy and leadership behind so much of the music we grew up on.

At the time, I had just started Emerge! Fashion Show ( ) and was really interested in the creativity and process of designers.

Fast forward just 2 years ago, being able to interview Christian one-on-one at the Gala. Still grateful for that moment.

Last night I attended the book tour that stopped in Chicago for businesswoman and author promoting her new book “Start With Yourself: A New Vision for Work & Life.” She’s the force and co-owner of brands like Skims & Good American

She’s been trending lately for her comments on work from home, but what stood out to me most was her perspective on letting go of old thoughts, stale thinking, and outdated ideas in work and business.

Also enjoyed hearing Kandi Burruss join the conversation on money and life. Always good to hear real perspectives from women who are building at a high level.
