After just falling short of a pin last season, the Bocce Buds came back with purpose. And this time, they finished the job. Despite a shaky regular season, they turned it on when it mattered most, dominating the Pizza Court all the way through, including taking down three-time defending champs Slices and Vices. Bocc’ Don’t Kill My Vibe made a triumphant return to the courts, rolling their way through the bracket and into the finals, but in the end, it was the mighty Buds who claimed the crown. A championship well-earned and one hell of a playoff run from both squads.

The undisputed darlings of Pizza Lobo Thursdays, No Balls, had a no doubt about it kind of night, playing some of their best bocce of the season. These ladies are pure Big Lobo Energy, and their joyful celebration to capture the Silver was the perfect sound to close out the outdoor season. Shoutout to Deboccery, our Silver runner-up, for a great showing as well!

Clark Street playoffs did not disappoint!

Big Bocce Brand played the night of their lives against a powerhouse Balls Deep. Balls Deep came out swinging, building a commanding halftime lead behind Erica and Justin pointing like pros, Patric shooting like a sniper, and Emily unstoppable across the court. Most teams would have folded, but BBB found another gear. With calm, steady pointing, bold shooting, and a well-timed casino, they chipped away frame by frame and stormed ahead for a 16–12 win. A statement victory against one of Clark Street’s most legendary legacy teams and the perfect cap to a dominant season.

After a rebrand in the offseason, the Hibocce Boys came back with a vengeance. They rolled through the Silver bracket with focus, saving their best performance for the finals. Facing a fire-hot GCC squad anchored by a POTY sub, the Hibocce Boys stayed cool under pressure and executed when it mattered most. 🔥

Since Summer ‘22, the Southside’s never seen a repeat champ… until now. Boccesaurus Rex already made history this summer as the first-ever back-to-back winners, but they weren’t done yet. Coming into playoff night, the Dinos were on a mission for the summer sweep… and they delivered.

Facing Brigid and her BBRATs in the finals, Rex stormed out to a 10–3 halftime lead. The BBRATs clawed their way back, putting real pressure on late, but Tweed and his Blue Island crew shut the door. Huge congrats to Boccesaurus Rex on their three-peat to close out summer at RIPH! 🦖

The Silver ‘ship brought it’s own energy as Elbowbenders and The Flaming Telepaths battled it out in a loud, scrappy, back-and-forth final. In the end, The Telepaths pulled through with a big frame to seal the win! Congrats, gents!

Playoff night at Pizza Lobo delivered big time! 🍕

After an undefeated regular season, it seemed inevitable that The Curmudgeons would roll through playoffs, and for a while, that looked exactly right. But in the championship, things got dicey. Down 8–2 at halftime against Ballort!, their opponents looked unstoppable. Then the Curmudgeons found their groove right around the time Troy took a tumble and stormed back to win it 16–13. A legendary finish to a legendary season.

In the Silver Bracket, family ties were the secret weapon for Amy and the Aunts (and Uncle). They kept it in the family and kept their cool through a stacked Silver bracket, proving that blood and bocce run deep. The Aunts rolled their way to the silver title with precision, teamwork, and consistency.

Playoff night at Roberts Westside brought the energy! After a full year of rolling, this crew is showing no signs of slowing down!

In the Silver Bracket, Detroit Rock City took a page out of their beloved Lions’ book and roared through the bracket to claim the title!

In the main event, Dr. Paul Ino, the league’s most veteran squad put on a clinic, jumping out to an 8–0 lead at halftime, they held off a second-half push from Rolling Balls of Fury. But unfortunately for our Regular Season Champs it wasn’t quite enough. Congrats to our Gold champs Dr. Paul Ino!!

Sending a shoutout to all our friends who rolled in the Mario Massa Memorial Tournament at Highwood this weekend!

Huge congratulations to Did You See It? (Julian Batula, Maurizio Perrelli, Anthony LaBarbera, Natale Scala) for a tremendous tournament and on taking home the championship!

ABC was proudly represented across 7 different teams and we couldn’t be prouder of the showings.

🥈 ABC 1 (Andy Zimmerman, Alex Gara, Lauren McDermott, and Vito Buonsante) battled their way to an incredible 2nd place finish! Their run culminated in a nail-biter against Did You See It? and was truly a hard fought battle that came down to the very last frame.

👏 ABC 606 (Brigid Reidy, Billy Stripeik, Sean Krone, and Jonathan Vivo) also had a great run, securing 5th place.

Massive thanks to our friends at Highwood for putting on such a great tournament!

The 5th Annual American Bocce Open is officially in the books! 🙌 From the first roll to the final frame, this year’s tournament brought together 300+ players, endless talent, and pure love for the game. Whether you made a deep run, battled through a tough bracket, or simply soaked up the atmosphere, you were part of what made this Open so special.

Huge thanks to everyone who made it possible: the staff at Palazzo di Bocce, our volunteers, and every single player who showed up ready, respectful, and all-in.

ThNB Playoffs at Pizza Lobo brought us a BATTLE.

#1 seeded Bocce Buds came out rolling, storming to an 8–1 halftime lead. Then the momentum shifted, and don’t all great comebacks start with a casino? Slices and Vices roared back with 9 unanswered points to flip the script and go up 10–8. But the Buds weren’t going quietly… they rattled off 5 straight to reclaim a 15–10 lead, the championship pins practically within reach.

But then came Kurtis. Score 12–15. Last ball in hand, he steps up… and delivers a walk-off casino to seal a 16–15 win.

That’s back-to-back gold for these lovable lords of the concrete bocce ward. 👑

Congrats to Yas Score! on a beautiful run to claim Silver glory! Bocce Amici had the gumption and talent to get it done, but in the end the Yas’s kicked some asses and grabbed the Schilling Cider merch glory.

Gold Finals at RIPH was a battle of ducks vs. dinos, fowl vs. fossils. Duck Stuff edged in an early lead, but Boccesaurus Rex didn’t flinch. The reigning champs put the pressure on, taking control by halftime. From there, the dinos locked it down—shutting the ducks out in the second half and storming to victory. With the win, Boccesaurus Rex makes history as the first Southside team to go back-to-back! 🦖🏆 Congrats, dinos!

In the silver showdown, our camouflaged crew A.D.S.C. faced The Great Pallinos. After a slightly premature celebration, TGP didn’t make it easy on ‘em, forcing A.D.S.C. to battle through the final two frames. At last, the win was real! Congrats to A.D.S.C.! 🎉

In what felt like deja vu, Stelios’ Premier League saw #1 All Rostered, yes. face off against the #2 seed yet again— this season it was Basic Be-occes stepping up.

The Be-occes had their work cut out for them to claim the title— with All Rostered running through the double-elimination bracket undefeated. Spoiler alert: All Rostered, yes. said, “No, not today.” 🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏻‍♂️
