Look at these babes! I’m sitting at the airport, still riding high from their nuptials last night. Justin + George are the sweetest, funniest, most fun people and they surrounded themselves with an amazing friend group. From their vows that were both beautiful AND invoked the wisdom of Jessica Rabbit, to toasts given in hot dog costumes, to an absolute blazing dance floor, it was the perfect night. Man, I love this job!

My pal took this photo of me and this amazing bride* and I absolutely love it. It completely sums up my wedding day experience. I truly feel so connected to my couples and am so happy, honored, and excited to be a part of the team! My motto is “you’re best friend for your best day” and I mean it!!!

Also, their ceremony was so sweet and their dance was INSANE!! What a day!

Hi, I’m Norah! Today is my 50th bday. That is bananas. I guess you are supposed to introduce yourself on socials every so often so today seemed as good a time as any!

I’m a wedding DJ. While I started DJing 30 years ago, I didn’t DJ weddings til 10ish years ago, and it just clicked. It combined my love of music AND my love of running events and being bossy. It’s truly my calling and I wish I discovered it sooner. I have 350 weddings under my belt. I love to stalk… I mean, keep up with my past clients (give me a shout out in the comments if I DJed your wedding!).

I started Modern Love two years ago and it’s my pride and joy (sorry, my children). Integrity, inclusion, and community are my core values- and I only want to work with couples who value that as well. So far, so good!

I live in Evanston with little artsy weirdo family- my husband (paul), 2 kids (Ramona and Felix), 3 dogs (Buttercup, Biscuit, and Bunny), 1 cat (Peanut), 8 chickens (pj, nugget, Alexis, Stevie, Johnny, amethyst, garnet, and drumstick), and two ducks (muffin and scone).

When I’m not DJing or cleaning up animal p**p, I collect records, go to amusement parks and the beach, lift weights, obsessively shop for “fashion”, travel, read, sing karaoke, play pinball, and continue transforming my house into Peewee’s Playhouse, but like, in a classy way. Plus I love tv. I love to make new friends and keep up with my old friends. I put the extra in extrovert.

So, that’s it. That’s me. And this is 50!

It’s been two whole years since I started Modern Love and it’s been two of the best years of my life*!
2025 not only doubled the amount of gigs from 2024, but brought me so much fulfillment, confidence, and friendship, as evidenced here. 2026 is bringing great things, particularly expansion in what we have to offer- I’m so thankful to my friends, family, vendor partners, and clients for all your support!!!! BRING IT ON, YEAR THREE!

Tuesday night I was def the oldest person at for the show. And no, I didn’t go with my teenager, I went with the second oldest person at the salt shed who was dropping that big bad dumper lower than the whippersnappers.

Despite living here my whole life, I’ve never gone to see the river get dyed green. Waking up early just ain’t my scene. However, when Emmanuelle and Jenny invite you to a St Patrick’s party at their new venue, you set your alarm (and only hit snooze twice).
My son,Felix, and I made the trek to the beautiful new venue, Wrigley On The River, and enjoyed lots of Irish (and Irish-ish) libations, listened to tunes being played by my pal DJ Trevor Harris, and had a blast! Consider us lucky! Slainte!

Nothing makes me happy than running into my past couples in the wild. Lindsy and John had the most fun wedding at City View Loft (RIP) with so many unique touches (like ice cream scooping instead of cake cutting). Plus they had a dance floor that was truly bananas, complete with a groomsman who ripped his shirt off to “Man, I Feel Like A Woman”. Men’s shirts, short skirts, indeed.

It was great to reconnect after four and a half years ago to celebrate Jake + Molly!

Christa + Kelly’s wedding was just so them, even down to the piano keys cake. The laughter and tears (like everyone was on an emotional roller coaster, bro. Including me). Their intimate January wedding was an assortment of family- both biological and chosen. These two are so loved, so lovely, and so loving- happy to consider them my friends now! These two will make beautiful music together forever!
