While I have never been a mother myself, I have the privilege of witnessing this transformation up close—through family, friends, and even more often, through my clients. I notice something as the first child enters. A shift. A recalibration of priorities. Perspective, in its purest form. And in that shift, there is something beautiful we can all learn from.
The things that once felt urgent—deadlines, texts, errands—suddenly matter less. Not because they aren’t important, but because love steps in, rearranging the order of everything.
For a brief season, time no longer something to manage—it’s something to soak in. (That’s until kids schedules begin lol)
Time once felt like a currency to be spent wisely, efficiently, always moving toward something. And yet, now, it stands still. Not wasted, but savored. Stretched out in the smallest moments.

One thing I love most is working with women whose bold strength is sometimes quiet, yet unquestionable—the ones whose lives of love birth creativity, a voice that speaks truth.

The kind of stories that aren’t afraid of the sharp edges but understand that vulnerability doesn’t just soften them—it catalyzes them. To more truth. More wisdom. More beauty.

Because quiet and bold, fierce and gentle—they aren’t opposites. They coexist, woven into the fabric of who we are. Strength isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s found in the softness, in the stillness, in the spaces where love and connection intertwine.
the tenderness, the undone, the in-between. The stories that remind us—there is power in presence, in feeling, in simply being exactly who we were meant to be + leaning into becoming more.

Love is not a feeling.
It is the thread that weaves through every feeling, the bridge that connects joy and exhaustion, wonder and weariness,
laughter and longing.Love does not come and go—it stays. It chooses.

Motherhood is this kind of love.
The kind that holds steady in the mess, in the mundane, in the stretching.
The kind that whispers, I see you. All of you. And I choose you—every day, in every feeling.

Love bends low and lifts up.
Love lays down and looks up.
Love does not require perfection, only presence.

And here, in this moment—small hands clutching, wide eyes looking up, a heart pressed close—it is clear:
Love is the safest place.
A place to be seen.
A place to be chosen.
A place to be held.
Because love is not a fleeting feeling, my dear. Love is the gift that carries us through every feeling.

💌 The courage to tell the story, even when you don’t know how it ends. So much of life is about stepping forward without knowing exactly where we’ll land. Creativity, relationships, building a family, raising children, pursuing dreams—none of it comes with a perfect roadmap. And yet, we keep going.

I see it in my own life—in the moments I’ve taken a leap before I felt ready, in the stories I’ve told through my work, in the way I’ve trusted a vision before it fully took shape. And I know I’m not alone in this. We all face moments where we wonder if we’re on the right path, if what we’re creating matters, if the uncertainty is worth it.

But creativity isn’t just about making something beautiful—it’s about trusting yourself, being brave enough to start, and believing that the unknown isn’t something to fear, but something to step into with open hands.

So here’s to the courage to keep going, to keep creating, to keep telling our stories, even when we don’t know how they’ll end. Because the best ones never unfold exactly the way we expect—but they always turn into something worth remembering.

I think about this often: how much we crave control, how we hold so tightly to the idea that if we just do everything right,we can create a perfect life, a perfect family, a perfect moment. But family isn’t built on perfection—it’s built on presence. On showing up, hearts open, hands ready, eyes softened to see what’s right in front of us.

And if I’m honest, I’m still learning this. Still untangling the grip of control, still trying to undo the belief that love is something we earn through effort instead of something we rest in. The unraveling is slow—little by little, moment by moment. It’s a process of softening, of choosing presence even when it feels uncomfortable, even when my instinct is to fix, manage, or perfect.

The truth is, the most meaningful moments in life rarely go as planned. Love grows in the in-between spaces—when we pause long enough to really see each other, when we let go of expectations and simply embrace what is.

When we release control, we make space for something greater: connection, wonder, and the freedom to just be. To breathe in the fleeting magic of our days without needing to make them anything more than they already are—beautiful, messy, and enough.

So here’s my invitation to you today (and to myself, too): Let go. Be here. Love them wildly. Because at the end of the day, presence is the only thing that truly remains.

Children move through the world with a kind of magic we spend our whole lives trying to remember. They don’t shrink themselves to fit expectations or hesitate to ask for what they need. They speak their minds, wear their hearts on their sleeves, and embrace every moment with a kind of reckless wonder.

They remind us how to play, how to feel, how to live without apology. They don’t build walls to protect their hearts or hide behind masks to make others comfortable—they simply are. And in their presence, we start to unlearn all the ways we’ve silenced ourselves.

They teach us to be brave. To be free. To be exactly who we were always meant to be. And if we’re paying attention, we’ll see that they are not just they are our greatest teachers - leading us back to our truest selves

Mama, your love is more than a quiet presence—it’s a force, a foundation, a story being written in the hearts of your children every single day. The way you love, the way you truly see them, the way you let them into your world—it shapes them in ways you may never fully see, but that will echo through their lives forever.

Let them hear your voice—not just in soft reassurances, but in bold truth. In the courage to say this is me, and I am still growing too. Because when they see you live with honesty—with wonder, with strength, with tenderness—they learn that vulnerability is not weakness but power, that love is not just given but lived, that connection is not just presence but being known.

They are watching you—not just in the way you care for them, but in the way you care for yourself. In the way you dream, the way you build, the way you step boldly into who you were made to be. When they see you chase what sets your heart on fire, they learn that passion matters, that their dreams are possible, that a life well-lived is one where love and purpose go hand in hand.

The beauty is in the imperfection, in the brave way you show up every day, offering your heart even when you’re tired, choosing patience even when it’s hard, creating a life for them not out of perfection, but out of deep, unwavering love.

You are already everything they need. Your warm love, your light, your messy, beautiful, bold heart. And, my darling, you are doing an extraordinary job.

Hold onto this. You will want to remember how it felt. This season is unlike any other—the quiet in-between, the deep breaths, the way love grows before you even meet. It’s the sweetest kind of anticipation, full of wonder, hope, and a love so big it already feels endless.
One day, these little kicks will be soft hands in yours. The waiting will be a distant memory. But right now, you are here, in the middle of something beautiful—life unfolding, love expanding, your heart making room for the greatest joy.

It’s a funny thing—how you can meet someone for the first time and feel like you’ve known them forever. That’s how this session felt. A slow morning in New York, wrapped in the quiet kind of magic that only this city holds—the way it stirs up wonder, nostalgia, creativity.

Our sessions aren’t about stiff poses or rushing through frames. They’re about slowing down enough to see—to really see—who a family is, how they love, the way they fit together in the small in-between moments. A tiny hand reaching for another. A soft smile exchanged through glass. The everyday gestures that seem ordinary now but, years from now, will feel like treasures from another lifetime.

I can already imagine this sweet girl looking at this photo one day, seeing the way her parents adored her—the way they looked at her with pure love, the way she was their whole world. And isn’t that the beauty of photography? To capture what is now, so that when time makes it feel like a distant memory, we will always have a way back.

Our spring + summer calendars are open in Chicago + New York and our team is committed to bringing you the most honest experience this year. We are so thankful for the honor this is.
