R&S Marching Arts are award-winning designers & makers of custom flags and costumes for the marching arts—including color guard, drum corps, marching band, indoor drum line, and indoor winds performance groups, around the world. The work of our founding partners has helped hundreds of performing units achieve their goals in the areas of Winter Guard International (WGI), Drum Corps International (D

CI), and Bands of America (BOA) as well as numerous local competitive circuits. We understand first-hand the thrill of performing in competitive Marching Band, Drum Corps, Color Guard, and Drumline. Collectively we have over 50 years of experience performing in, designing for, directing, and teaching award-winning groups around the world. Founded by two designers—Alan Spaeth and Steven Ryan—who know the activity, we understand the importance of getting it right. Specializing in digital hybrid manufacturing, we understand the value of customization and personalization in everything we do. This means that when it comes to painting the field, it isn't enough that your color guard has flags that match—they they need to right flags to tell your story. Similarly, it means that your show costumes aren't simply outfits that make your band look "uniform"—they set the stage. For these reasons we feel it's so important that every group and every show designer have the ability to make their ideas come to life.
