DjPhazer shares what he’s been working on lately, including his collaboration with Raf Wlodarczyk on their TB-303 firmware, along with the latest Phazerville Suite firmware update for Ornament & Crime (O_C), discussing its new features and capabilities.

Great meeting Mike from at knobcon and checking out his Modified Tape Player Prototype, developed from his original “Poor Man’s Mellotron” concept.

A motor controlled cassette instrument featuring five playable keys, a step sequencer, and built-in digital effects.

Mike also had a lovely collection of handmade sound devices at his booth. Thanks for showing me your work.

Always great catching up with Ed and the Circuit Happy team at knobcon. ❤️

I’ve been using The Missing Link in my setup, so it was great to stop by their booth and see what they’ve been working on.

In this video, we talk about what The Missing Link does and how it helps keep different instruments and devices in sync. They also showcase The Missing Link UNO, a more affordable way to get started with wireless clock synchronization, expected to be released early next year.

Sometimes the best part of KNOBCON is meeting someone for the first time and realizing you already have a few mutual friends! 😊

It was a pleasure meeting and getting a firsthand look at his custom MIDI remote scripting in

As an Ableton user, I don’t often get the chance to explore what other DAWs have to offer, but this one definitely caught my attention!

What makes this particularly interesting is the ability to write your own code and create custom MIDI mappings, allowing you to build controller workflows around exactly how you want to work.

Seeing how fast and responsive everything was during the demonstration made me curious to explore what else is possible with Bitwig.

Knobcon 14 | WESTON PRECISION AUDIO

It’s always a pleasure to stop by the Weston Precision Audio booth, catch up with Devin, and see what they’ve been working on.

This year, we spent some time exploring the HV1 Hybrid Oscillator paired with TRIVIUM, their collaboration with Trovarsi 

We also had a chance to catch up on a few things in the works, including something I’m looking forward to seeing more of when the time comes.

Knobcon 14 | CEREBELLUM

Boolean logic has always been an interesting part of modular synthesis, particularly when it comes to building complex rhythmic relationships. Thanks to Eric from biopoweraudio for taking the time to demonstrate CEREBELLUM and explain the thinking behind its design.

From interconnected polyrhythms to evolving generative structures and audio-rate timbres, there’s quite a bit happening inside this module.

Knobcon 14 | N-WAVE 

It was a pleasure meeting Christopher from VAV Synths and welcoming them to their first knobcon. 

N-Wave caught my attention with its unique approach to waveshaping. Its threshold detector defines a specific region of the waveform, engaging a bipolar VCA to generate different harmonic content and a variety of shapes while leaving the original peaks intact.

Pairing N-Wave with X-Wave (Wave-Crosser) offers even more possibilities for sound design.

Knobcon 14 | OBLIQUENCER

Great catching up with Andy from A Magic Pulsewave Electronics / Andy M. Puls 

I’ve worked with sequencers for years, but seeing musical patterns built through binary logic and a pin matrix opens up new possibilities for how we create music.

OBLIQUENCER generates melodic and rhythmic patterns through internal patching, with three channels that can also be converted to MIDI for generating harmony.

Always great to stop by one of my favorite modular cable makers, Hive Mind Synthesis and catch up with Mike.

I’ve been using their modular cables in my studio for a while now, and they’re some of my favorites.

This year at knobcon, I also got to check out their PVT (Passive Video Toolbox) and DVM (Dirty Video Mixer).
