Every session in the studio is a chance to learn something new not just about music, but about the tools we use to shape sound. This week, I’ve been exploring the expressive possibilities of the Novation Launchkey’s modulation touch strip.

Workflow tip: If you own a Novation Launchkey, don’t overlook this feature. It’s a touch-sensitive control that lets you shape parameters in your DAW or synth in a way that feels different from a traditional mod wheel. On the Launchkey series, you’ll find both pitch and modulation strips perfect for adding expression on the fly. One of my favorite uses is assigning the mod strip to AMP envelope decay or sustain for more dynamic control.

New music drops tomorrow. Feels like a good time to pause and reflect. It’s been almost two years since I moved to Chicago. I came here chasing sound, connection, and the chance to grow.

Still finding my way, still learning the city. But what keeps me moving is the quiet belief that this music will find the right ears, the right room, the right moment.

This next release a collaboration with someone whose work I’ve long admired, carries all of that with it. The journey, the energy, the heart.
