LAUNCH & GIVEAWAY 🚀
Alix Kramer Photography & my new family photo website are OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED! To celebrate my new family photography business which aims to capture your kids as they are in this dynamic and wonderful stage of their lives is ready for booking!
To kick it off I am giving away one FREE family photo session. To enter you must:
1. Be based in Chicago, Boston or Memphis. If you are outside of these cities I may be able to accommodate due to my personal traveling schedule but cannot make any guarantees.
2. Have kids who are older than 6 months old. (This is not a newborn photography venture!)
3. Want a photographer who captures your gloriously real kids during gloriously real moments, with no posing or directing. (To learn more about my process and what to expect, head to my brand new website!)

I can’t believe today is the big launch & giveaway! Today I’m finalizing the site and making changes to my social profile, including a new bio, profile photo, and name! A Perfect Match Photography doesn’t quite fit my new endeavor, so I am dusting off my old Alix Kramer Photography handle and bringing it back into use. I’m also updating my locations served to better reflect my availability. While I’m based in Chicago, I am in Boston & Memphis to see family often enough that I’ve decided to list those three cities as my main stomping grounds. I also travel a lot, and will happily coordinate shoots in other cities around my travel schedule. I can’t wait for the launch later today and to start booking sessions!

I love when I go to friend’s houses and I get to see their childhood photos on the walls. There are always inevitably a set of photos taken in a white-walled photo studio where the kids are wearing clothes that they’d never pick out for themselves, doing unnatural poses and forcing smiles. It makes me sad to think that these photos are the only glimpse I have into my friends’ childhoods, and they don’t even look like the joyful, energetic kids I’m sure they were!
That’s why I am approaching family photography with a unique mission. When we look back on photos of our kids, we want to remember them as they were, not as a strange photographer decided they should be. I approach family photography with a photojournalism background, capturing shining, messy, beautiful, joyous children as they really are in that stage of their lives. Unlike other family photographers, I meet clients in a familiar place where their kids are 100% at home and comfortable, and I spend the “shoot” following them as they laugh together, play together, make messes together, and clean together, resulting in gloriously real photos of gloriously real kids. No more stuffy photos. These are real photos of cherished moments with cherished loved ones.

There have been a lot of changes in my life as the photographer behind A Perfect Match Photography. I finished graduate school and started working full-time as a therapist, specializing in working with young people with chronic illness. I LOVE my new job! And I love working with kids. With all the changes in my life, I decided to really appraise my photography business and decide if it was still serving me and my passions. During the process, I spent a lot of time with my niece and nephew, taking photos of them during their daily life which were ultimately perfect little snapshots of their true personalities, quirks, excitement and boredom. I also realized that my favorite moments at weddings to photograph were the gloriously real moments involving the kid attendees.
I have made the decision to step away from wedding photography, and move into family photography, specializing in photojournalistic-style, candid photos of kids. I am approaching family photography with a unique mission and process, which I am so excited to share with you tomorrow.
In the next week I’ll be sharing more about my mission and updating my brand to fit my new photography population. And on Tuesday I’ll be launching my brand new website and hosting a kickoff giveaway!
