When they initially booked me they expressed their interest in a bilingual coordinator and the incorporation of Mexican-American culture into their big day. The 2025 Wedding Season is officially HERE ๐
Happy May 1st โ Taking a moment on this beautifully calm, rainy afternoon to reintroduce myself and share a few favorite throwbacks.. from being off the clock as a bridesmaid (an energy my clients know well!) to coordinating behind the scenes, to that sweet full-circle moment I got to pin my dad on my big day.
Iโm Myrna (pronounced: MEER-na), wedding coordinator heading into my fifth season and loving every second of it! Iโm a proud big dog mom of two, a recently-graduated bride, and a lifelong celebration enthusiast. My whole life is basically one big party and we are so here for it. You can take the bride out of the coordinator, but canโt take the coordinator out of the bride ๐ I swear I made all internal efforts to let go for my big day, but saw her opportunity and took it! Hahaha thanks for the fun shots, these gave us a laugh for sure. If youโve worked with me, you know we never mind stepping in to assist especially when there is business to take care of elsewhere.

Your favorite wedding coordinator is officially a wifey!! So many thank youโs to share, vendor features to come, and words to be said. Everyone thought I was crazy for planning my own big day, but I just felt like I was another project we had the pleasure to take on. What really brought it to reality was packing my own โdetails boxโ (IYKYK) the night before. It wasnโt all the walk-throughs, meetings, zoom calls or planning that made me realize that my time had come โ it was gathering my wedding belongings that did it for me.. and oh so flawlessly captured by my beautiful & talented bridesmaid/little sister, Sandra Contreras.
I canโt wait to feature & post all of the beautiful creations from all our vendors (warning: AM wedding spam to come), but I will say how thankful we are feeling for all the hard work, patience and dedication that was put into executing one of my biggest days yet!! Just when I thought my empathy for my brides and grooms was to its max, it went up by 100%! Weddings are not for the weak and I couldnโt have done this without our amazing team(s). Four years ago I decided to retire the serving apron, put away the cocktail shaker and enter the world of special events; specializing in front of the house operations and management in full-service catering. Though, I never really planned to get into catering (the last thing I wanted to deal with was food after 7 years being a server and bartender) I took the opportunity when it was presented to me. A man by the name of Greg Chanthalusy (@cateringmadesimple) opened the door and trusted in me to help in getting his company launched into the bridal market. Since then Iโve worked with two great catering companies where my position consisted of executing weddings and other private events. Over the years Iโve had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to execute wedding receptionsโboth on the catering side and bridal side. I am forever grateful for everything Iโve learned in the catering industry and experienced, for it has only motivated me and made me more stronger in my career. Today, I proudly belong to the @chicchefcatering management team (featured on Best Pick of The Knot) specializing in day-of-wedding operations and client relations. Our company continues to impress me by vigorously working its way up the bridal market ladder, making our clients our #1 priority.
