A young white woman yelled this at Chris from her car as she drove by him walking to the Northside protest tonight.

"I hope you get shot."

I'm overwhelmed with sadness by the state of our world right now. It doesn't seem like it could possibly be real. But of course I know it is very, very real. Recent events have left me gutted and desperate to do more.

I'm spending the rest of the week muting myself and joining the movement created by .msrd, . It feels so hard to understand something so far from my own heart and I want to hear and learn from black voices about ways I can be better and do more to be part of the change.

We belong to each other 💓

I am devastated, overwhelmed, emotional and just heartbroken. I know I don’t have the perfect words to offer but I know that silence can be deafening and I want to do all that I can to be an even better ally and fight harder against systemic racism. Please use your voice and your privilege to be part of the change. Please take action outside of social media. Please have hard conversations, talk with your kids, make calls and donations. I have shared many resources in my stories and will continue to do so. Please share others with me below.

Has anyone else been craving connection to the Earth these days? Having my bare feet on the ground or in the water (hands work too!) is such a great grounding technique to help with calming energy and negative emotions. Have you tried it?

I can hardly wait until we can head back to one of our favorite places. In the meantime, we are doing what we can in our neighborhood and I hope Mother Earth is getting the rest she needs ✨

Being a mama is my life’s greatest joy and I always look forward to celebrating this gift with our little trio and of course love celebrating all of the amazing mothers in our life, too. We are usually able to celebrate with both of our moms in person and we are really missing them these days. I always love gifting them something special and thoughtful and this year, we are especially looking forward to doing something for them to brighten their day and let them know how loved they are. 💓
