🎥✨ It’s here! The YWCA Mini Documentary featuring Creativiti Custom Designs and Events is officially LIVE! 🙌🏾💕

My One Million Black Women journey came full circle when I had the honor of working on this powerful project with the incredible Melissa Bradley — founder of 1863 Ventures, fierce advocate for Black and Brown entrepreneurs, and a trailblazer in the world of inclusive venture capital. 🙌🏾🔥

I was blessed with the opportunity to share the heart of my business — Creativiti Custom Designs and Events — and the story behind our mission to bring magic, meaning, and memories to every celebration.

I really put my whole Creativiti into this one! From custom event graphics to the photo boards, menu, and balloon arch—I tapped into every skill I have to create a prom experience fit for my second born king. I acted as the full-service event planner and designer, but more than anything, I’m PROUD MAMA!

Johnathan is truly HIM—an honor roll student (accepted into close to 30 colleges, and offeded over 300K in scholarships) a great big brother, and a multi-hyphenate like his mom. He runs Drip by John, his graphic tee brand, and Chef John’s, his lifestyle brand (fun fact: he once interviewed with Food Network to be on a kids baking show. But mama was an essential worker and didn’tt take off to fly to LA). And for the last 5 years, he’s been the one holding it down in the kitchen, cooking every meal for our family with love.

Our Story, Let’s Plan a Party!

A few years ago, I became obsessed with using my creative ideas to host amazing events.After designing countless events for my children, and later for my friends and family, I decided to launch my business. I learned how to dip treats, decorate cakes and paper craft products after taking some free classes on a whim. Developing these skills unlocked my creative side, and I begin to design and use my own party products to style my events.

Creativiti Custom Designs and Events was officially launched in August of 2015 with Dare’s Safari Shower. I custom designed Safari themed treat boxes, party favors, centerpieces and more to style her event. Her dessert display was the center of attraction, because of the variety of treats and themed party favors. My dessert tables consist of custom designed treat containers (boxes or bags), themed or color coordinated snacks/treats, and loads of candy! I like to think beyond common items like dipped fruits, gum balls and cupcakes. Creativity is key!

Since launching, I have been blessed with the opportunity to style numerous social events like birthday parties, baby showers, retirement parties, and other celebrations. I have also planned community forums, and other professional events like the “Economic Empowerment Summit” at New Covenant Baptist Church, and the Woodlawn and Washington Park Summits.
