First, a well deserved “woah!” for the amazing response to yesterday’s post. Amazing in the physical response, the great numbers of you who made your way out to peruse the sale PLUS the number of “adoptions” and the sales created. Unexpected and deeply, deeply appreciated. Yes, cheap, but not in the landfill when still perfectly fine and usable. Win-win.
But aside from great pleasure of seeing so many of you, the completely unforeseen messages of prayer and praise for our simply being here for you or your family. What we consider just doing our job. The dozens of lovely messages that I’ve tried to keep up with, but when there are many messages Facebook will hide or shift the order making it really tough to see them all. If I missed answering you, it’s not intentional. There were times I’d be working on reading and responding that I had to stop. It can’t be denied, there is a sadness to all of this that can’t be ignored and your messages of love and support touch me deeply.
Again, thank you, for all of it, the acceptance, the patronage, the trust and understanding displayed by this customer family of ours for nearly five decades cannot be underestimated. The rough patches, financially and personally, that we’ve weathered together. The phenomenon of business,/customer relations built on helping and supporting each other is an accidental gold star model for business success.
Be good to me, and I’ll be good to you.
Sounds simple, but easier in theory than practice. And we all need practice.
Again, thank you all. And if you think you missed out because the hoards stripped us bare like locusts. Fear not! I have four floors and a barns worth of storage. There’s still plenty to peruse and I haven’t brought everything out yet, so come say hi if you’re in the neighborhood. We are not closed or closing anytime soon. In fact, I prefer to remain until I find a suitable replacement and make the transition as easy as possible.
