When food brings an emotional connection to either back home or a loved one or even someone you've lost, it's a connection that needs no words. Last night Trevor and I experienced that for the 1st time. We both cook, both on different levels. I have the professional background and he has a general love for food. Between the 2 of us, we enjoy the art of creating food that just makes you smile and feel good.
Send It Catering LLC. hosted a 25th wedding anniversary at Hank's Pub last night for a couple that our regulars. They wanted jambalaya, true authentic Louisiana jambalaya. Trevor knocks it out if the park with his. He makes his own tasso and andouille sausage. Takes days... it's a process!
So we decide to throw a FAT TUESDAY party so all guests can experience the whole shebang.
A new young sailor that has become a regular buys the jambalaya. I see him eating it and I notice that he's teary eyed. I'm thinking it's too spicy and ask if he's good... He then tells me that this was the best jambalaya he's eaten since his aunt past away years ago. That it remined him so much of home that it made him emotional. He was sincere and compassionate with his words. THAT'S WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO! It's not for the money, it's for the connection... Trevor loves food and I love people and if we can get the two mingling together, the world is just a better place❤️❤️❤️
