Koliada returns!

This time we’re seeking performers to join our troupe. We are in the dark times and it will get darker before it is over. The light will not return unless we scare away the darkness!

Join us as a performer for Koliada, the ancient Slavic winter tradition of becoming giant animals, lightness, darkness, and ancestors.

Apply today to join our roving band of forest creatures troubadours, sharing songs and stories of community, and love overcoming darkness and fear. The application contains lists of important dates and requirements.

Stay tuned for more Koliada corner updates, upcoming workshops, and ways to volunteer if you can’t be a part of our marvelous troupe!

Join us this Saturday at 5pm for the Red Tent Women’s Circle. This month, as the leaves fall from the trees, we focus on Death and Meditation.

Rate Savittiere, Death Midwife, co-leads the gathering and has these wise words for us:

It is not all death and gloom. There is so much levity here. Talking openly about death that makes life feel even more alive. There is something incredibly grounding about sitting together and acknowledging the one thing we all have in common: we are mortal.

Please register at: https://www.thetelegraphschool.org/redtent

And a heartfelt thank you from Matthew:

Thank you to all the brothers that came to join The Forge for our first gathering at the Telegraph School. Our first session was Speak Your Truth. Practicing radical vulnerability with friends, acquaintances, and strangers takes lots of courage.

Thank you to all the men who shared and all those who came to the space to support and invite opportunities for connection in and outside the group.

Thank you brothers 🙏🏼

Date for next session (10/16 at 7:30pm) Please sign up on the website.

We’d like to introduce the facilitator for The Forge, the new men’s circle starting at 7:30pm this evening at The Telegraph School. By the way, we’ve had some registration hiccups, so please attend even if you haven’t gotten confirmation.

Meet Matthew O’Brien:

My father once told me “to be a father.” In these simple words I realized, he meant not only my children but in life.

My name is Matthew O’Brien and I am here as a father holding a dedicated space for men to share their truth, be heard, and forge brotherhood, courage through vulnerability, and learn through shared generational wisdom through inquiry working with thicker common threads.

The Forge is dedicated to bringing men together not only through men’s work in a circle, but in community and in nature.

Please join us tonight at The Telegraph School @ 7:30pm.

The first fallen leaves are carried away by the still-warm October wind, making room in our hearts for lyrical poems, funny stories from life, deep songs, warm tea, and delicious treats.

Our October Open Mic once again brought musicians, writers, and dreamers together under one roof at The Telegraph School.

Thank you to everyone who came, shared a piece of their heart, and made the evening what it was.

Until we meet next first November Friday!

And if that isn’t soon enough for you, please checkout these upcoming events:

UPDATE: If you've had trouble registering, please join us tomorrow. All are welcome.

Fathers and Men,

The Forge is offering a 5-session bi-monthly men’s circle providing a constructive, safe, and facilitated environment centered on common threads of modern men and fathers; forging brotherhood, courage through vulnerability, and shared generational wisdom.

We offer a grounded, confidential space for men to drop the mask, step out of isolation, process life’s heavy weights, foster personal accountability, and support one another as brothers, fathers, and leaders in our community.

This is an in person offering presented by reGathering held on Tuesday, 10/6 and 10/20 @ 7:30pm at the Telegraph School.

Join us for an evening of community and creative expression!

This month our exhibit will be “reGathering: work featuring the artists and makers of the reGathering Board.”

Exhibition Opening Party at 5pm, Open Mic starts at 6pm. Please sign up at the door to perform.

Part of the Cherry Valley Art Trail, our exhibit features work by Marc-Anthony Polizzi, Charlie Varney, Anastashiia Starukhina, Jade Tooth, Bethany Adams, and Angelica Palmer. Come see the work, meet the artists, and learn a little more about ReGathering and what’s ahead at the Telegraph School. It will be up for the month of October and make sure to come by Saturday 10/3 11am to 4pm to see the exhibit and listen to live music during Cherry Valley Falltoberfest.

Since 2021, our monthly Open Mics has been a celebration of creative expression and community. It brings people together of all ages and backgrounds, from throughout Central NY sharing poems, music, dance, short stories, comedy, theater, and more!

Donations graciously accepted.

This event coincides with Cherry Valley First Fridays, an evening of gallery openings, music, food and fun throughout the village.
