On Friday, August 7, Philadelphia’s own Alexander Marrero realizes a lifelong dream as he makes his professional debut at Philly Fight Night 7.

I’ve always believed a main event has to mean something.

It isn’t about putting the two best records together. It’s about putting two fighters in the ring who both have something to prove.

That’s exactly what we have on Friday, August 7.

Kurt Scoby (19-2, 17 KOs) has become one of the most exciting fighters in boxing. Seventeen knockouts in nineteen wins tells you everything you need to know—when he fights, fans expect action. He’s closing in on the biggest opportunities of his career, and another dominant performance keeps him moving toward the top of the division.

Across the ring stands Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco (24-16-1, 11 KOs), a veteran of 41 professional fights who has made a career out of taking on dangerous opponents. Fighters like Blanco don’t get on a plane from Argentina hoping to survive. They come believing they can pull off the upset and change their career overnight.
