Happy New Year from the family behind The White Barn ✨

What started as a dream for our forever home slowly grew into something we never could have imagined. We purchased this land to raise our family, build memories, and create a place that felt like home. Along the way, friends and family began asking if they could celebrate their biggest moments here—and that’s when a new vision was born.

The barn was first meant to be a simple shop. The quarters were planned as a guest house. Even the pond was expanded with the idea of fishing with our kids, friends, and family. Piece by piece, this property became more than just land—it became a place for gathering, celebrating, and sharing life’s most meaningful moments.

Building The White Barn has been a journey of growth, pivots, hard work, and a whole lot of faith. It’s challenged us, stretched us, and reminded us that the best things are built intentionally and over time.

We are endlessly grateful for the Cheney and Wichita-area community, our couples, vendors, and everyone who has supported us from the very beginning. This has never been a solo journey—it’s been built with love, family, and community at the center of it all.

The White Barn - Our Story

Hey there! 👋We're Kelli + Nic Hillman, and these are our little ones Knox + Lennox. We're the owners of The White Barn Weddings + Events Venue in Cheney, KS. When we purchased this 20-acre property it was to build our forever home. Nic grew up in Cheney and we knew this friendly community was the place to raise our kids.

Originally, our vision was to have The Barn serve as our shed/shop, with The Quarters being our guest house, and where we would reside as the main home was being built. We even expanded the pond from 1/4 acre to 3 acres for fishing with friends and family. We had the perfect five-year plan!

So many people kept asking us if our barn was a wedding venue, that eventually we started toying with idea. We talked about it for a long time and eventually we saw what our friends had seen - the perfect wedding venue. The location is perfect, right off Kellogg. And on a blacktop - which is unheard of for Barn venues.

Fast forward to today, and where our future home was going to be built, will now be an awesomely paved parking lot for The White Barn. 🤣
