With wedding season right around the corner, Iāve been reflecting on how this journey even began š¤
My start in this industry didnāt look anything like it does todayā¦
It actually began in December of 2010, planning my momās 80th birthday party. After the party was over, I was stuck with all these tablecloths I had bought from Samās Club and had no idea what I was going to do with them.
My mom had the idea to rent them out to the golf course clubhouse where we had her party⦠and thatās really where it all started. I started doing a little events and and that one idea led to renting out pieces for other parties⦠and somewhere along the way, a friend of mine helped me create business cards and a website. Not long after that, I got my very first call for a full wedding booking.
My very first wedding was at EYRY of the Eagle in Grass Lake, Michigan back in 2011⦠and Iāve been lucky enough to be a part of that amazing venue ever since š¤
So of course, I went all in⦠ordering nicer tablecloths and chair covers, thinking I had it all figured out.
Well⦠those chair covers showed up VERY purple š
I panicked.
I ended up setting up the entire room myself, having absolutely no idea how to tie sashes or even do a proper napkin fold. Donāt ask me how many hours it took⦠Iām pretty sure I cried at one point, LOL.
But I figured it out. Once I I added lime green sashes to those chair covers the purple hue went away, made it work, and somehow it all came together in the end.
That pretty much sums up this journey⦠learning as I go, figuring things out in real time, and making it work no matter what.
Fast forward 15 years, and Iāve had the honor of being part of so many weddings and love stories. Iāve met the most incredible couples, and some Iām still close with to this day.
Itās been a wild ride, but such a blessing. I wouldnāt trade it for anything.
