You know what sounds absolutely dreamy ?— a hygge weekend in a cozy yurt/cabin in the countryside. It’s the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and slow living. 🌿✨
And it’s one of our favorite times of the year! Slower pace, beautiful weather, and hot drinks!
Here’s a few ways on how to enjoy an unplugged, cozy, comfy weekend getaway at the windy goat acres 🐐
First, pack all your comfiest clothes! Think hoodies and sweaters and slippers and hats! Bring your softest blankets and socks, too! Polaroid cameras often have a nostalgic, comforting effect.
Then turn the phone on airplane mode ✈️
🌅 In the Morning: Wake up with the sunrise and sip freshly brewed coffee or tea while wrapped in a blanket. Pull out a book or watch a morning comfort movie. Make a slow breakfast: waffles with fresh berries or eggs from the farm. Enjoy the silence and simple pleasures like the sound of rain, birdsong, or wind rustling through the trees. Try some yoga or stretching on the deck.
🌞 Afternoon: Go for a farm walk and bring a thermos of tea, visit and cuddle the animals, or explore nearby trails. Return for a cozy lunch: stew or chili with grilled cheese by the fire. Do something tactile like knitting, sketching, or writing postcards.
🌅 Evening: Play some board games, listen to records, read by the fire, have some storytelling time, or solo journaling. Bring and enjoy your favorite treats like homemade pie, smores, hot cocoa or mulled wine.
🌟 Nighttime: Stargazing and cuddling — yurts are wonderful for sitting right under the stars. Cuddle up in your softest blanket with your favorite people or pets or stuffies and relax with a movie or book or music.
🧳 Pack up slowly, savoring the quiet and calm.
Before leaving, take one last photo or moment to breathe deeply — a reminder of the peace you’ve created.
