Back in March of 2023—just about a month before my own wedding—Jerod and I packed up a van full of flowers and drove to Texas for my cousin’s wedding.
She’s a New Yorker who fell in love with a Texan, so it felt only right that her flowers made a journey too.
We made a little adventure out of it—stopping in New Orleans for the night, eating way too much good seafood, and then continuing on to design and set everything up.
The hotel… looked A LOT better online (at one point something dripped from the ceiling onto my sisters head! (lol)...but it did the job. I was able to create all of the floral pieces, there, and somehow everything came together just the way it was meant to.
We dressed chandeliers in greenery, filled the space with soft, romantic touches, and by the end of it—every single piece felt like her. We even reworded ourselves with another overnight stay in New Orleans and more Seafood on the drive home!!!
It’s easy to think floral design is just about the finished product… but sometimes it looks like long drives, buckets in the back of a van, and making something beautiful wherever you land.
And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way
