✨ 2025 in the Conference Rooms ✨

Our conference rooms were truly the heartbeat of community activity this year. From meetings and banquets to youth programs and private celebrations, the rooms stayed full nearly every week.

We welcomed a diverse group of organizations, families, agencies, and agricultural partners — and we’re proud to serve as a gathering space for both professional and personal events.

This year included:
• More than 60 conference room events
• A strong presence from Virginia Cooperative Extension with educational programs and trainings
• FFA & 4-H youth events, including Advocacy Day and the Southridge Area FFA Rally
• Over 15 private gatherings such as reunions, weddings, birthdays, and celebrations of life
• Meetings with VA Dept. of Health, DEQ, Farm Bureau, PATHS, FSA, and more

✨ October Upgrade: Our conference center got a lift this fall with freshly waxed floors, a new paint color, and all-new trim — leveling up the space for an even better experience for our guests! ✨

We’re grateful to each group that chose ODAC as their meeting space this year. Here’s to another year of learning, celebrating, and connecting!

🐑 Fun Fact Friday! Wool in Virginia

Virginia’s fiber and wool industry is thriving — and Pittsylvania County is proudly part of that momentum. Across the state, small and mid-size sheep farms produce beautiful wool that finds its way into:

• Hand-dyed yarn
• Crocheted and knitted goods
• Felted artwork
• Regional fiber festivals and craft shows

Many of these producers are right here in Southside Virginia, preserving a long tradition of shepherding while creating sustainable, locally sourced fiber products. December is the perfect month to highlight their work as wool season hits its winter peak!

Fun Fact Friday: Christmas Trees in Virginia 🎄

Did you know Virginia is one of the top Christmas tree–producing states in the country?

Across the Commonwealth, there are over 500 Christmas tree farms, growing favorites like Fraser fir, Canaan fir, white pine, and Norway spruce. These farms play a big role in supporting local ag economies during the holiday season and help families continue the tradition of choosing a real, homegrown tree.

🎄 A New Annual Tradition Begins at ODAC! 🎄
We had the honor of hosting Pittsylvania County Schools’ FIRST EVER Pre-K Christmas this month, and what an incredible day it was! Pre-K students from across the county—and their families—joined us for a magical holiday celebration filled with Christmas spirit and hands-on fun.

Children rotated through a variety of festive stations including a mini train ride, bounce houses, Christmas story time, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and so much more. The laughter and excitement around the building made it a truly unforgettable experience.

With over 1,200 people onsite for its very first year, this event was an overwhelming success—and we’re thrilled to share that, due to popular demand, Pre-K Christmas will be returning next year!

Thank you to Pittsylvania County Schools, all participating families, and everyone who helped make this new tradition so special. We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2026! 🎅✨
