The Jefferson School Foundation, in partnership with Prolyfyck Run Creww and Soul of Cville, is proud to announce 100 Years Strong: A Legacy Run , the official kickoff event for Soul of Cville Week and a signature event honoring the 100th Anniversary of Jefferson
School.

As the opening event of Soul of Cville Week, 100 Years Strong: A Legacy Run will bring together runners, walkers, alumni, families, neighbors, community leaders, and supporters to honor the generations who helped shape Jefferson School while celebrating the partnerships and people who continue to move its legacy forward.

“As a part of The Legacy Run we invite the community to join us as we pass the torch. This is a living symbol of one generation passing wisdom, stories, sacrifices, and opportunities to the
next. The ceremonial torch handoff reminds us that none of us arrived here on our own. We are carrying dreams that were entrusted to us by those who came before, and we have a responsibility to pass something meaningful forward. As Jefferson School celebrates 100 years
of impact, we’re honored to help create a moment where legacy holders and legacy carriers can stand side by side, recognize how far we’ve come, and commit to where we’re going next.”

Nominations for the 2026 Best In Black Cville Awards are officially… OPEN! 🍾✨
This year, we are shaking the table, switching up the vibes, and leveling the playing field. We love our annual favorites, but for 2026, we are rotating some of our traditional categories to give even more innovators, micro-businesses, and hidden gems room to shine.

We’ve introduced brand-new, culture-shifting categories that celebrate experience over popularity, reward the folks working behind the scenes, and highlight the true trendsetters in Charlottesville. From the ultimate “Soft Life Curators” and “Main Character Energy” to our deep appreciation categories like “The City Needed This”—this year’s ballot is about to have the whole city talking! 😍🔥

Here’s what you need to know for 2026:

The Vinegar Hill Endurance presented by Leather Honey: A Prolyfyck Annual Fundraiser Challenge

Show up to walk, run, support and help raise funds for our community – Heart & Soul Fitness( ) Soul of Cville and Prolyfyck Run Creww. We will walk/run the Prolyfyck route (4.5miles) every 4 hours for 52hrs.

WHEN: Friday, July 10th – 6am until Sunday, July 12th – 10am
