This post is long overdue and probably won't come as a surprise, but I figured I should announce my official 'retirement' from wedding photography. 2023 was technically supposed to be my last year, but when an old friend asks you to come out of retirement for their wedding which happens to be at your favorite venue, it's hard to say no! So that wedding back in November was the perfect way to wrap up my season of life as a wedding photographer.
It's so wild that I spent over a decade photographing weddings. This business started as something for me to do for fun on the weekends, but quickly snowballed into a full career. And spending a lot of that decade pouring into other photographers in the education space was such an honor!
To everyone that was a part of this journey, I say I thank you. To my amazing couples for trusting me to capture those priceless moments, to the students that wanted to learn from me and to my friends and family that supported this venture and stood by me when I responded to every invite with "I can't, I have a wedding."
I have been working towards this retirement for years now as I always wanted to eventually step back to spend more time with my growing family. I know it's the best decision for us, but I will certainly miss being a part of such a special part of people's lives.
Thankfully, right as I was transitioning out of weddings, a new opportunity presented itself on my fitness journey! Becoming a Burn trainer has been a great way for me to still pursue a passion and be able to use my talents to serve others in a meaningful way. But with a much more family friendly schedule.
So thank you again to everyone that has been on this journey with me. Some of you since the very beginning! I'm so thankful for you all and look forward to what the future holds!
