ROAD TRIP 2024. All my big babes together for a long weekend of fun and hanging out, tom foolery, shenanigans, and high-speed chaos.
Me the Driver, Sid the Navigator 2nd Class, behind Sid is Harry the flight's in-house entertainment. Next in the comedy line up is Aditi 🐻 the resident, mother hen and mediator. Behind Aditi 🐻 is Lily, the group's encourager and nurturer. Next to her in the lineup is Haidyn Olivia, our team's instigator-n-chief, also our first class Navigator. Lastly, in the rear corner, we have YaYa, my sweet Ella, who happens to have several roles in this company of goofballs. She is the team's interpreter, their proxy, and the public defender. One stop shop, she'll hear the case, hold closing arguments, adjudicate, and enforce the terms.
These are my wonderfully whacky grandbabes!!! Wow, how much I love them? I have no words for!!!

25 years ago tonight, this very hour, I lost my Mom. It was a normal night of running to the store to get milk for the morning, getting kids bathed and ready for bed, and the phone rings. You are met with words like "get here as fast as you can" and "she won't make it through the night." It's like getting hit with a baseball bat, full swing, center mass. And you will never have another minute. I just needed one more minute.

25 years later, she was and always will be my dear, sweet little, momma whose hands were so much smaller than my own. I am who I am because of all she gave and went without. I am stronger because she was an encourager who thought I could do anything. I am grateful that God gave me 33 years with that beautifully complicated, compelling, tender hearted woman who was as no nonsense as she was silly and kind. I am so grateful, and 25 years later, I still mourn the loss. I will honor her all the days of my life by continuing to be her dutiful, devoted daughter.

I pray tonight for all those suffering the loss of a parent and know that anguish. God Bless.

I love this beautiful picture of my Mother and big sister. Taken in Germany around 1964. My father was an aspiring photographer and took rolls and rolls of film, some I'm still waiting to develop.
