You're ENGAGED! Here's what you should do FIRST:
1. Take it all in!
Before diving into wedding planning, take time to bask in the joy of being newly engaged. This period is precious and sets the tone for your planning experience. Trust us, it flies by way too fast!
2. Set a budget.
Sit down with your partner to discuss your wedding budget. Be honest about what you can afford and allocate funds to different categories such as venue, photography, catering, and coordination. Having a clear budget will help you avoid unnecessary stress and financial surprises. Determine which vendors are your top priorities and allocate funds there first.
3. Create a couple's email.
Set up a dedicated email account for all wedding-related communications. This will help keep everything organized and separate from your personal inbox, ensuring you don't miss important information. We recommend choosing an email address using your wedding hashtag or both of your names. This email also comes in handy after you get married, for things like booking vacations, scheduling appointments, and organizing your files, etc.
4. Choose when and where.
Popular venues and dates book up quickly, so prioritize securing your date and booking your venue as soon as possible. Consider the season, your guest count, and any special preferences when choosing your venue. Booking early ensures you’ll have more options to choose from. Most other vendors cannot book your wedding until after your date and location are secured, so we recommend starting there.
Remember, your wedding day is a celebration of your love. Stay true to what feels right for you and your partner, and enjoy the journey together. If you need assistance with planning or have any questions along the way, we are here for you!
