One month ago TODAY, was the launch of Charlotte Local Wedding Show. Oh my gosh, it was such an absolutely perfect day! We’re you there? I’d love to hear what you loved about it!! 😍 I had all kinds of hopes and dreams to keep this page active in the days that followed, but just 12 hours after the show, tragedy hit my family.
My mom and step dad (whom you might have even met at the show because they came to help) were attacked by a home intruder. My step dad was just moments from death, but was saved by a guest that was staying in their B&B. Mom has multiple fractures to back and ribs. Don had 18 stitches in face, 5 staples in head, massive neck injury, broken rib, and glass scrapes from head to toe.
The weeks that followed have been a blur. 5 days with them in ICU, and then arranging things at my home so I could care for them while they healed.
We thank God that they are both healing well and will make a full recovery.
I tell you this not as a sob story, but just to let you know why I’ve been quiet.
My first day back to work after all of this, we found out our venue was robbed and all our commercial lawn equipment was stolen. 😢
I sat on the gravel parking lot and the tears wouldn’t stop.
How much could a girl take?
3 days later my kids school shuts down because they found E.coli in the water system and 3 days after that we find ourselves in a global pandemic. 😳😔😭
So. If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by life right now, I feel you.
But here’s the deal...I think we can all agree life kinda sucks right now, but I want to help us all do our best to stay grateful and positive.
