Last weekend marked a historic moment for Boston and for Latino arts and culture across New England with the grand opening of La CASA: The Center for Arts, Self-determination and Activism, which now stands as the largest Latino cultural center in New England.
From an inspiring ribbon cutting with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Senator Ed Markey, Senator Nick Collins and Representative John Moran, artists, partners, residents, and community leaders to a full weekend of performances, open houses, music, and celebration, La CASA officially welcomed the community through its doors in the South End.
Built on a legacy of self-determination and cultural preservation, La CASA is a permanent investment in Latino community and creativity. The weekend’s energy reflected decades of vision, advocacy, and community leadership by IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción.
Castle is proud to support IBA by sharing the story of this transformational project and the incredible people behind it.
Congratulations to Vanessa Calderón-Rosado, Mayra I. Negrón-Roche and the full IBA team, partners, artists, and community members who made this milestone possible.
La CASA is truly a place where culture and opportunity will thrive for generations to come!
