I’ve been a busy flower bee! 🐝

Yesterday I had the privilege of creating this sweetly adorned sympathy arrangement.

It was in honor of a woman named Evelyn
who lived her 99 years on this earth
in kindness and faith.

Whether I know the deceased or not,
I always read their obituary.
It gives me a sense of who they were…
interests, hobbies, careers, etc.
I also ask the sender if they would like to add something personal to the arrangement.
Evelyn’s best friend asked if I could get a Virgin Mary statue,
and also have her blessed.

Here she is, surrounded by flowers…
and blessed by Father Stowe. 🙏🏼

While taking pictures of the flowers,
something struck me…
I went back to the obituary and studied Evelyn’s picture.
It was obvious.
The resemblance in their faces is remarkable.
And it shook me for a moment

but then I remembered,
and it all made sense.
Something bigger than us is guiding us.

This statue was always meant to be for Evelyn.
As were these flowers.
And I’m grateful that I was the one chosen
to create it all. 🩷💐

A sympathy arrangement for a life taken too soon.
My friend Bob asked me to create a piece to honor his good friend.
They worked together, for many years,
at The Providence Journal.
It’s always important to me that I incorporate something personal into my arrangements,
if I can.
Most of the time it’s a special flower, or color, or a military patch to honor their service.
Although untraditional,
I knew this time,
it needed to be a newspaper. 💙

Valentine’s Day is just one week away,
Saturday Feb 14th!
You still have time to place your order but….
for last minute purchases I will be setting up at Artful Expressions RI Studio on 2914 Post Rd, Warwick from 12-4
during Jess’s kid’s crafting open studio!

I’ll have rose vases, mixed flower vases,
small bud vase arrangements,
and flower head arrangements.
I’ll also have hand tied mixed bouquets and single stems for sale in my flower cart display.
Spring wreaths will also be displayed and available to purchase or to order!
There’s literally something for everyone.
