I know that bachelorette parties have gotten out of control in the last ten years…

all the decor, crazy favors, so many activities, + expensive destinations can add up REALLY quickly

but as a bach party planner who’s worked with over 300 bachelorette groups…

I’m here to tell you that the girls who had the BEST trips are not always the ones who spent the most money!

I am ALL about going all out for your bestie, but please know that you can go all out AND not spend every dollar you have to your name

a few tips:

1️⃣ choose your priorities! if your group wants to splurge on a boat day, skip the expensive favors — or if you want to go all for decor, plan a pool day at the house to counter costs

2️⃣ plan ahead to avoid unexpected costs! if you’ve got a plan for meals, activities, etc, you’ll avoid having to pay higher prices because you’re making last-minute plans

3️⃣ and of course, plan a night in! I usually recommend that this is the first night or the last night — people will be tired from traveling, or they’ll have an early flight the next morning. it can still be really fun to order pizza, play games, + make drinks!

4️⃣ and my hot take: the bride should pay for her portion!!! it’s her trip too and while it used to make sense to cover the bride’s drinks when bach parties were just one night out, it just doesn’t make sense anymore. this will save everyone money (and resentment!!)

I’m a big fan of the maid-of-honor (or whoever is planning) providing SOME weekend essentials for a bachelorette party, but please don’t feel like this needs to be crazy!

this list is just a jumping off point — choose what makes sense for your group! and if you don’t think you’ll need it, then skip it - I promise the group won’t notice.

MONEY SAVING TIP: instead of doing individual bags for everyone, put everything into a basket where the girls can grab what they need throughout the weekend. no need to waste your budget on buying travel sized things for everyone!

for my sister’s bach, I bought a few things in bulk that we all shared, and a few individual things as little gifts for the girls. this made it way easier to pack and I also wasn’t left with those little drawstring bags that are never going to get used again.
