One of the biggest takeaways from event management school had nothing to do with logistics.

We were given a short timeline to plan an entire event — working with people we didn’t fully know, under pressure, and then presenting it.

After our presentation, one of the instructors — a top event producer — paused and said:

“I have one question… who did the graphics and artwork for this event?” I raised my hand. The crowd cheered.

She smiled and said, “Fantastic job.”

That was her only comment. No question about the timeline, the logistics or even the budget. It was the BRANDING.

The way the event was visually presented. The way everything showed up together.

And that moment confirmed something I’ve known — and taught — for years:

Branding communicates before you ever speak.

It shapes perception. It builds trust. It signals professionalism.

This is why branding is more than a logo. It’s how you present your ideas. It’s how you show up to work. It’s how you show up for your clients.

No matter how far you get in your career or business, you should always remain teachable. Growth requires a willingness to elevate.

I spent last week in West Virginia finishing my second year of event management school.

I’ve officially completed event management school and earned my CFEA — Certified Festival & Event Associate, a professional designation from the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA).

I didn’t pursue this just to add letters behind my name.
I pursued it to sharpen my skills, my structure, and the way I show up.

Whether I’m planning events, building brands, or helping business owners clarify their vision, I don’t believe in guessing. I believe in foundations — and the structure that supports them.

This is what I teach. This is how I work.

If you’ve been building without clarity or structure, this is your sign to stop winging it. I challenge you to go after the certification you want. Start the business you’ve been thinking about.
