"Just About to Jam...Ellen Bright Hall"

It may be Tuesday morning but we are bringing this artwork out and having our very own party!

Like many of P-Nut's paintings, this one is set in what was once a real location in Charleston, S.C.

"Just About to Jam...Ellen Bright Hall"... The fabulous Ellen Bright Hall still stands today at 1104 King Street. The Ellen Bright Reception for 33 years hosted wedding receptions, graduation parties and "crab cracks".It was shut down and is now a florist.

It's almost Friday and can we all agree that we are all in favor of a getaway this weekend? P-Nut's "The Getaway" is 12"x 36", framed, and in acrylic. Includes original handwritten poem by the artist. Poem and painting sold as one .

Like many of P-Nut's paintings, this one features a venue in Charleston that was a real establishment in P-Nut's young adulthood. Formerly "Mr. Murray's Links" and now "Legacy Meats," this business is at 1667 Meeting Street Road in North Charleston. P-Nut’s poem that accompanies this painting (included with purchase) reads:

The links are specially
Made by a Black man
Back in the early 40s
And sold for 10 cents and
It was one of a kind
Made in Charleston, S.C.
And it was very good with beer or moonshine
And the kids loved it too.
