This 1807 estate is one of Charleston’s most sought-after venues for weddings, private receptions, meetings and corporate events. No wonder BRIDES magazine recently named The William Aiken House among the "Best Venues in America." Indoor and outdoor spaces showcase period artwork and antiques, sweeping piazzas, an elegant pergola and lush private grounds, accentuated by unparalleled service and cuisine.

My most-repeated piece of wedding design advice: always add florals to your seating chart! It turns a simple sign into a beautiful focal point that guests will talk about and remember.

F E A T U R E D • F R I D A Y // Can't decide which of our venues you love the most? You don't have to! Sabrina + Mike did just that, and their The William Aiken House + The American Theater wedding night was nothing short of enchanting. Set against the historic charm of the William Aiken House, the day began with an intimate ceremony beneath a floral-draped pergola, surrounded by lush greenery. Cocktail hour followed in the garden + inside the house, where guests sipped champagne poured alongside a custom ice sculpture in the likeness of the couple’s beloved dog — a detail that was as memorable as it was personal. As golden light poured through a clear tent draped in soft white fabric, guests were seated for dinner at long tables adorned with sage green linens, romantic floral arrangements, and candlelight that danced beneath grand chandeliers. Every detail, from the refined place settings to the cohesive blend of natural tones and soft textures, created a setting that felt both elevated and inviting. After dinner, the celebration moved next door to the iconic American Theater, where the atmosphere transformed into a vibrant, retro-inspired lounge filled with velvet seating, disco balls, and an illuminated infinity dance floor. With the help of their incredible vendor team, Sabrina + Mike created a wedding weekend that was not only stunning, but deeply personal — a perfect reflection of their love story.

Sweeping ballrooms, lush private grounds and open-air piazzas make this historic 1810 mansion one of Charleston’s most sought-after venues for weddings and once-in-a-lifetime occasions.

This 1810 estate is one of Charleston’s most sought-after venues for weddings, private receptions, meetings and corporate events. No wonder BRIDES magazine named The William Aiken House among the "Best Venues in America." A seamless blend of 18th-century charm and modern sophistication, The William Aiken House welcomes guests into a peaceful retreat just inside its stately gates on Upper King Street. Formal dining rooms and parlors showcase a collection of museum-caliber artwork and antiques, while a two-century-old magnolia tree is the centerpiece of sunlit courtyards, manicured lawns and an elegant pergola.
