A little catch up dump from the past month. Forgive me, I always get a little quiet during the last few weeks of the growing season.

It’s such a bittersweet feeling to look back at all the work and realize that the growing, the arranging, the weeding, the scurrying out to the field (in the rain) for that inevitable last minute order… eventually comes to a screeching halt.

But contrary to popular belief, the work of a flower farmer never really ends around here.

After we finish up U-Picks and the grand finale of our gorgeous pumpkins, there are tulips to plant. New peonies to tuck in. Seeds to save. Tubers to sell. Beds to prep. SO MANY plans and adjustments to make. And before we know it, we’re doing it all over again.

2026 may be fading, but the flowers of 2027 are already beginning. 🌷

And I think that might be one of my favorite things about farming. The ending of one season is always the beginning of another. :)

It’s so funny how I can look around the farm and see a weedy mess, and then a photographer can spend a couple minutes looking around and somehow find SO many beautiful little spots to shoot.

Especially in front of my workshop, a spot I would normally detour any photos away from and somehow April made it look absolutely magical?! ✨

I just had to share these stunning photos taken here at the farm by the very talented April Cole with Meadow Photography - Grand Island, NE Child and Family Photographer. She has such an eye for finding beauty in places I walk past every single day without thinking twice about.

And with that ……. we are officially ON VACATION! 😎🏝️✈️

We are so thankful to be able to take a week off and enjoy our (second) favorite place in the world.

I have to tell you guys about my new friend Beth. 🥹🌸

I don’t know many people who would come out in the heat of the day, without a single cloud in the sky and 96°+ temps, to cut flowers AND do it with a huge smile like the ray of sunshine she is!

We chatted about our shared love of flowers, and even though she’s a florist and fully understands how flowers work, it was so refreshing to hear her say, “I just can’t believe these beautiful things exist and grow out of the ground.” 😂

Like YES. Exactly. Somehow that part never gets old.

I just love little moments with customers like Beth! Thank you for making my week. 🥹🌸
