Talon Point is getting geared up for the start of our busy season. Upcoming we have the Panhandle Children's Foundation Spring Fling Gala Fundraiser featuring Dix Hat Band, Live, Talon Point BBQ, a live and silent auction. Proceeds go to PCFI for use in their work with disabled and disadvantaged children.
Speaking of Children.... We have 6 area schools that will be bringing their Life Skills/TLC classes for Day Camps. Weather permitting, they will get to ride horses, ride our 'barrel train', play yard games and eat hamburgers and hot dogs. These classes are able to come at no cost to the schools or parents thanks to PCFI. It will be a busy last week of April and first 2 weeks of May.... But that IS what Talon Point is all about... The Kids!
Thank you for your continued support of Talon Point and PCFI. Remember, when you book a group event at Talon Point you are helping make it possible for these kids to come and enjoy these camps!

Wow! What a busy 6 week run we have had! There has been an Intern Orientation, 2 Weddings, Hogs At The Point Fundraiser, Sunrise Emmaus - Men's Walk to Emmaus, Sunrise Emmaus - Women's Walk to Emmaus, 2 Dumas High School Class reunions, and the United Methodist ARMY youth work project, just to name the major items. Hundreds of new and old friends came to visit and hopefully learned something new about Panhandle Children's Foundation and Talon Point.
No, we did not forget that smack in the middle of that 6 week run of events, there was the 5th Annual Camp Agape at Talon Point. You have seen the pictures on the Talon Point Retreat page, but you would have to attend and work one of these camps to understand what Panhandle Children's Foundation and Talon Point are really all about. It's about giving Disabled children a Local place to be a 'normal' child for just a little while.
Some of the things you might have realized during your recent visit is that Talon Point truly is a ‘Multi-use’ Facility. Sometimes there are as many as 4 events going at the same time, but because of our layout, each group is able to have their event without interference from the other groups. When asked, our catering crew turns out top-of-the-line food for your event including over-the-top True Texas Barbecue and Desserts that are legendary to Talon Point (ask folks about Carolyn’s Bread Pudding). But we are much more than just a Venue for your event, we operate each day with the purpose and ideal of how we can better serve our end goal: being a safe, comfortable and inviting place for the Disabled Children that visit our facility.
Watch us on Facebook and on our website for more opportunities to come visit our facilities, eat our cooking and enjoy our Texas Hospitality. While you are here, take time to slow down and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets you will see…. They show up pretty much every evening! Thank you for helping us, help the Children.

We just posted an album containing photos from the June 2015 "Camp Agape @ Talon Point". We want everyone to remember as you enjoy your time here at Talon Point Retreat during your Family Reunions, Class Reunions, Walks to Emmaus, Christian Retreats or attending Fundraisers that your dollars spent here go to help provide camps to these campers at no cost. Panhandle Children's Foundation, Inc and Talon Point. foot the entire bill and provide the facilities for not only this camp but for the Junior camp over Labor day, and the Teen Camp in October.
Thank you Everyone! And continue to enjoy our facilities!

This is the new bridge just outside the North Smokehouse door. The bridge is built over our grease trap, so maybe it shoud be called: "Bridge Over Greasy Waters"?
