Let’s talk rentals. ✨
Because the right rentals don’t just fill a space they define it.

This setup features our Betty Sofa (she’s the striped show-off we all secretly want to be) and our Elara Chairs (modern, sculptural, and shockingly comfortable).

From the shape of the seating to the texture of the tables, every piece plays a role in creating an experience. The lighting, the layout, the scale it all matters.

So next time you’re planning an event, remember: your rentals are the design. The vibe. The difference between “cute setup” and “who designed this?! 👀”

DANG FINE DESIGN ICKS…..
We all have them, the little details that instantly kill the vibe. And because we live + breathe design, we’ve seen some repeat offenders. Here’s what makes us cringe (and how to fix it):

The Beige Plague
When everything is beige, nothing stands out. It feels flat, sterile, and uninspired. The fix? Add texture, play with bold pops of color, or mix in contrast so the space actually has depth.

Bad Lighting
Fluorescent overheads? Immediate ick. Lighting sets the mood, and when it’s harsh or cold, it ruins everything else you worked so hard on. Instead, layer your lighting—uplights, warm bulbs, candles. Think cozy glow over interrogation room.

Wrong Scale
Design isn’t just what you put in a space, it’s how it fits. Tiny rugs in massive rooms, oversized sofas shoved in small corners… scale can make even expensive pieces look cheap. Measure, balance, and design for the space you actually have.

Plastic Folding Chairs
We’ll die on this hill. They’re fine for a backyard BBQ but not for a wedding, brand event, or styled space. Rent the dang chairs. It instantly elevates your event and your photos (and your guests’ comfort).

Ignoring Flow
Even the prettiest setup falls flat if it doesn’t work. Guests should move easily, find the bar, get to the photo op, and not feel like they’re stuck in a maze. Function is just as sexy as form, don’t ignore it.

At the end of the day, good design is about details—both seen and felt.

Here’s why this photo op works and why it lives rent free in my brain 👀:

The rhinestone gas pump → Details matter. When you take an ordinary object and make it extraordinary, it creates a magnet for attention. Guests had to touch it, snap it, and post it.

The glitter stop sign + floral tires → Layering textures + reimagining everyday props is what takes a space from “cute” to “wow.” The more unexpected, the more memorable.

The gold payphone → Nostalgia + glam = instant connection. Guests don’t just see décor, they see an experience that’s playful AND shareable.

The checkered floor + bold signage → Anchoring the scene with strong patterns + typography ties the whole story together and makes the photos pop no matter who’s standing in front.

The takeaway: A good photo op isn’t just a backdrop. It’s an immersive, intentional build that layers in detail, interactivity, and surprise. That’s how you stop people in their tracks and keep your event living online long after it’s over.

Somebody had to say it… 👀✨

Event design isn’t just “pick pretty colors + rent some chairs.” It’s flow, comfort, lighting, timing, and creating those photo-worthy moments that live on forever.
So here are the design tips we’d give you if we weren’t afraid of hurting your feelings

Pinterest does NOT equal a design plan.
We love a mood board moment, but inspo alone doesn’t make an event flow. You need layout, guest flow, and logistics to back it up or else things get messy real quick.

Yes, people notice the chairs.
Rentals aren’t “just rentals.” The wrong chairs can kill the vibe of an otherwise stunning setup. The seating is where your guests spend most of their time — it should add to the design, not distract from it.

Colors change in the wild.
What looks dreamy on your computer might clash completely once lighting, florals, and signage are layered in. Always test your palette IRL, not just on a screen. Trust us, your future self will thank you.

You need more photo moments than you think.
Events are memories and marketing opportunities. If your guests don’t know where to take a pic, you’re missing free exposure + a chance for people to connect with your brand or celebration long after the event.

At the end of the day, event design is about more than pretty colors and cute inspo pics. It’s about creating an experience that’s thoughtful, intentional, and impossible to forget.

That’s the secret to turning “just an event” into a DANG FINE event.
