This dessert is called Biji Salak. However, there is no part of the salak (snake skin fruit - next pic) used in the ingredients. The description of this dessert is actually sweet potato-tapioca balls served with thickened palm sugar soup and coconut milk. We used purple sweet potatoes as our version of the dessert.

It is called that way because the shape of the balls look like the seed (biji in Indonesian) of the salak.
