Aaron Ammons closed the Champaign County early voting site today at Bennett Administrative Center because of a “technical issue.”

I say, what’s a polite word for complete and utter nonsense?

And the voters of Champaign County don’t know what the issue is, how big or severe it is, or why the site had to be closed.

This is unacceptable.

Our right to vote deserves transparency, accountability, and competent administration.

We need a new County Clerk.

Something is happening with my campaign yard signs, and I think it deserves some explanation.

The signs at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Lincoln Avenue in Urbana have now been removed twice.

I’ve been very diligent about understanding the rules governing political signs in Urbana. The City’s published guidance specifically allows temporary political campaign signs in the public right-of-way, subject to certain restrictions.

So I have to ask myself: Who is removing these signs, and why?

What’s particularly interesting is that other comparable intersections in Urbana still have their original political signs in place.

I’m not interested in making accusations without facts. But when the same location is affected twice, while other signs remain untouched, it raises a legitimate question about consistency.

If the City is removing them, I’d like to know why. If someone else is removing them, I’d like to know why they believe they have the authority to do so.

Political expression should be treated consistently, regardless of whose name is on the sign.

I’m simply asking for some answers.

A special shout-out and heartfelt thank you to the Champaign County Retired Teachers Association for hosting today’s candidate forum.

I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the organizers and everyone who took the time to attend. It was an honor meeting you, hearing your perspectives, and being part of such a meaningful community conversation.

Thank you for the invitation and for creating an opportunity for candidates and community members to come together.

Having grown up in Arizona and living 3 1/2 miles from the Mexican border, I know good Mexican food whether it’s Sonora or Baja the ingredients are fresh nothing out of a can and it’s rich and well seasoned. I grow tired of what we call Mexican food here in Champaign/Urbana, and tonight I made chicken enchiladas Verde with some black beans and rice along with some homemade guacamole. The only thing missing is a margarita but we’re having Chardonnay instead.

I had the privilege and honor of meeting with the Champaign County Republican Women’s Group tonight at the American Legion in Urbana.

It was a rewarding, fun, and informative evening, even though my time with the group was brief.

We talked a little about me, why I decided to become a write-in candidate for Illinois House District 103, and some of the positions I hold on issues that matter to people in our community.

What really meant something to me was the response from the group. The applause, the questions, and the enthusiasm were heartfelt, and I truly appreciated it.

Politics should be about people coming together, talking, listening, and finding common ground—even when we don’t agree on everything.

Tonight was a great reminder of that.

Thank you to the Champaign County Republican Women’s Group for welcoming me. It was an honor to be there.
