I will be teaching not one, but TWO workshops at Key City Steampunk this year! The first of which is for VIP ticket holders only, so make sure you get your VIP tickets and register for your choice of my valet class or a leather pouch class with my friend Donald Dodson

Key City Steampunk Presents: THE ADVENTURER'S GUILD this August 8th thru the 10th in Gettysburg, PA - Adventuring is all well and good but even the most dedicated hero enjoys spending a few quiet hours crafting. What else are you going to do with those ten "uncured kobold skins" and three spools of "plain leather cord" you collected on your travels? Combine them into a greater whole, of course! There are many fine artisans with workshops open to all in the crooked streets of Key City but our VIP patrons can enjoy a choice between two different excellent classes this year. Which will you choose? A difficult decision to be sure

📣Donald Dodson is the founder of Dodson Designs, a maker of fantastical and practical custom leather creations for almost 10 years. With a degree in history education and a background in both design and art, it's no surprise that Donald is drawn to Steampunk and other fantasy genres. As an artificer of some renown, he is passionate about creating and sharing his knowledge and encouraging others.

While attempting to escape another plane of existence, Donald made a deal with the fae in exchange for creating ‘certain goods of fantastic appearance and practical usage” - an endeavor he continues to this day.

📣Brittany Cocola, also known as Mirabella Took, has been working in leather over 15 years after self-teaching herself the techniques to make her own armor for a Renaissance Faire costume. Her award-winning leather work has been featured in film, TV series, music videos and events around the world! While you can find intricate hand-carved designs in many of her pieces, her specialty is in the methods of water-forming and creating custom finishes for the leather to truly transform it from traditional leather work.

VIP Ticket holders will be receiving an email to select which 1 of the 2 classes they would like to participate in. Those workshops will be -

⚔️Leather Dice Valet with Mirabella Took - In this class, students will learn and use basic leather stitching techniques to raise and secure edges of veg-tanned leather to create a 7 1/2" square valet for rolling your adventure dice or keeping all of your treasures in one spot. Custom coloring and simple stamping will be an option if so desired!

⚔️Dodson Designs is again pleased to offer a VIP workshop for Key City this year. This year, you will build your own Adventurer Guild-era-appropriate belt pouch. This is perfect for all your small items, trinkets, and even fits a wallet or your “Magickal Messaging Device.” This is a “low-sew” build using leather thong and devious construction, almost magickally folding space to create a pouch fit for an adventurer!

Im so excited to finally share this one! I was approached to make a 3D sculpted mask inspired by Nightwing and had to match it to a color shift fabric being used for their costume. These pics do NOT do this beauty justice. By combining two different duochrome and a rainbow iridescent pigment with my finishing, I was able to create this effect that is. *chef’s kiss* This is hand’s down my favorite finish I’ve created in leather to date.

It's going to be a busy weekend for us, hopefully painting LOTS of faces at Jim's Farmers Market Birthday Bash tonight from 3-8 and then at Adams County Farmers Market Fairy Festival market on Saturday from 8-1 in the Gettysburg Rec Park! Weather looks great for tonight (though warm) and tomorrow may be a little soggy, but that doesn't mean you can't have some face or body painting fun with me!
