Capitol Theatre

Capitol Theatre Historic Theatre located at 159 S Main Street Chambersburg PA, 17201 Your gift in any amount will have an impact.

Mission: "To create opportunities for the greater community to engage in and experience all facets of the arts." The Capitol Theatre has touched the lives of almost everyone who has resided in the Franklin County area. For many in the community, the Capitol is the β€œgo-to” place for quality arts and entertainment experiences. For others, it provides a creative outlet for performing on stage in play

s, ballets, and concerts or working behind the scenes. Many memories have been made over the years watching movies on the big screen, attending live shows, and listening to the mighty Moller Theatre Pipe Organ, which sounds as vibrant today as it did over 90 years ago. You can be a part of preserving the Capitol for the children of today and future generations so they too can β€œgrow up” with equally fond memories at the Capitol. Capitol Theatre Center Foundation operates independently as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. Like most non-profit theatres throughout the country, Capitol Theatre Center experiences a financial gap between what it costs to operate the cultural arts center and the amount of money generated through ticket sales, facility rentals, and concessions. We are able to close the financial gap, in large part through grants; endowment interest income; marketing partnerships; and donations from individuals and businesses as part of the annual Capitol Forever Campaign. There are many ways an individual, family, or corporation can contribute to the Capitol Theatre Center Foundation. All gifts are greatly appreciated and may be tax-deductible depending upon the type of gift and your own personal tax situation. To discuss the possibility of making a gift, please call 717-263-0202.

We are in need of at least one more concessions volunteer (though preferably two) for Chambersburg Ballet's production of Sleeping Beauty THIS SATURDAY 6/6! 🍿πŸ₯€ It would be great if we could get two more as afternoon shows tend to be a bit busier! 😱

You can sign up here: https://signup.com/go/uZohmYT

** Please note that volunteer arrival time is listed a little earlier than the show time start at 1pm. This is so volunteers can prepare for when doors open for attendees at the event.

A review from a satisfied client, when they rented out our Capitol Theatre Wood Center for their wedding reception. πŸ˜ŒπŸ‘°πŸ€΅ You can actually find this review under our reviews section on Facebook! 😊

We're always so happy to see people satisfied with their experience at our venue. We're always welcoming requests for rental events! Birthday parties, wedding receptions, business seminars, and more are always great for the Wood Center. Live shows, movie screenings, competition events, and more are great for our main theatre. If you have an upcoming event that needs an event space, we may just be the place for you. πŸ˜„πŸ‘

** Please note that we have to work around scheduling for our main season events, production partner events, and other previously reserved rentals to accommodate. We HIGHLY suggest you reach out well in advance (typically at least 6 months to a year before if not longer) so that we can do our best to fit you in to one of the spaces. 😊 Depending on your expected day, the theatre and/or Wood Center may not be available. But we will do our best!

To schedule and for more details such as cost, set up, and more, please reach out to our Executive Director Kelly Kozlowski at 717-263-0202 option 2. Thank you! ❀

And if you've been to an event here or rented out one of our spaces, feel free to leave a review under our reviews section on our page. We'd love to see some there for 2026! πŸ₯°πŸ“

While Sy of The Reagan Years - The East Coast’s Original 80s Tribute Band is mostly seen behind the drums, he also has a few songs during the band's set where he takes over as frontman! πŸ₯πŸŽ€πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ€

Here he is giving it his all at a recent show... any guesses to what he was singing? Or if you were at this show at Rockwell Brewery the beginning of this month, perhaps you can give us some insight. πŸ˜‰πŸŽΆ

Come see Sy and the rest of The Reagan Years at our 21+ Backlot Blast on July 11th! It'll be an awesome way to spend a summer Saturday night! πŸ˜„πŸ™ŒπŸ˜

Our third event of the 2026-2027 season (marking our 100-year anniversary) is coming November 14th! And who better to have for such a memorable season than World Champion Tribute Artist Jesse Aron and The Spin-Outs Elvis Tribute Band with their "Legends of Sun Records: Tribute to Roy Orbison & Elvis Presley!" 😎

We've had Jesse Aron and The Spin-Outs here before for various shows and they've always rocked the house! Aron's exceptional vocal talent and ability to capture the sound and essence of each performer he pays tribute to leaves you to believe you're hearing the original Orbison and Presley! 🀩 He's won many awards, travels internationally, and placed in many tribute artist competitions. πŸ†

The Spin-Outs is an internationally acclaimed Elvis Tribute Band for Elvis Tribute Artists everywhere! 😍🎸🎹πŸ₯ The band is known for its spot-on β€œauthentic” re-creation of everyone’s favorite Elvis songs from every era of his career. They will also be prepared for the Orbison hits as well for this tribute. The band will truly deliver that authentic-feel that'll have you believe you're hearing the original artists. 🎢😌
