From Grapes to Glass: The Sapphire Creek Story
Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens is nestled among ten acres of secluded woods and streams of the Chagrin Valley. The 11,000 square foot building is indeed a hidden gem. Boasting 28 foot barn wood ceilings and panoramic glass windows, the winery embraces a modern and sophisticated aesthetic while at the same time is inviting and comfortable to its patrons.
Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens is the vision of Kathleen and Andy Dangelo. The pair fell in love with the seamless incorporation of indoor and outdoor spaces prevalent at Napa Valley wineries while visiting in 2014. As life-long residents of the Chagrin Valley, they realized this type of experience was lacking in Northeastern Ohio. Using Sapphire’s sister company, The Ohio Valley Group, the two began to realize their vision of landscape design and installation prowess to create unrivaled outdoor spaces. After much cultivation of the idea, Kathleen and Andy began the design and build process in early 2016 and opened Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens in March 2018.
The perfect complements to Kathleen and Andy are Kimberly and Jimmy Gibson. The Gibsons are also life-long residents of the Chagrin Valley and are the successful owners of The Hungry Bee. Kimberly McCune Gibson is also well known for her appearances on the popular Food Network show, Chopped. The Gibson’s bring their culinary knowledge to the Sapphire Creek team, creating an unrivaled guest experience with both world class food and unparalleled service for both The Restaurant at Sapphire Creek and Events at Sapphire Creek.
Sapphire Winery & Gardens soon became a place of natural beauty and sophisticated aesthetics where tradition meets innovation. Sapphire Creek is an unrivaled destination where world class food, wine and service meet among spectacular art, gardens and architecture. Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens truly inspires all of the senses.
