Final Peek at Parker's Senior Session! I've known Parker since they were maybe 10 years old, so I've had the privilege of watching Parker as they have grown into a young adult. Parker today identifies as non-binary, and remains one of the very coolest individuals. When Parker's Mom contacted me, I immediately thought of the rainbow stairs at Mosaic. I was so excited to finally get to utilize this space. From there, we managed to touch upon Parker's interests for reading and film with photos at Barnes & Noble and the Angelika theater (see earlier posts for those images).

But there was one more stop I wanted to make... the gritty rooftop of the parking garage, where we'd get some different textures and big open sky. What we weren't expecting was a loud speaker ala the voice of God, telling us to vacate because we were in a restricted area😂. Just as I got my light dialed in, the voice came over the speaker. A good photographer keeps shooting, and this is the shot we got.

Well done, Parker and Mom! Thanks for having me out - it was a blast!

More fantastic images from Parker's Senior Session! Parker is a highly creative, brilliant kid with a unique perspective on life, who aspires to be a screenwriter one day!

I didn't know this about Parker when I suggested we shoot at the Mosaic District in Annandale, but it turned out to be the perfect location.

After snapping a few at Barnes & Noble, we meandered over to the Angelika Film Center & Café at Mosaic to see what we could get... and I have to say, the staff there were so awesome about letting us snap a few photos inside.

The result? Portraits of the Artist as a Young Person, of course! (Parker also loves Dorian Gray). With this collection of images, I like the mix of the usual available light portraiture that I typically do, plus some higher-end editorial-style shots, and finally some more experimental, reflective/dreamy stuff through the window.

I feel like we really captured the essence of this part of Parker's personality and aspirations. What do you think?

SNEAK PEEK ALERT!

Parker's Senior Session was a TOTAL blast. Senior sessions should reflect the awesomeness of your kid, their personality, and what makes them unique and special as they get ready to launch! Parker is an amazing kid, who is obsessed with reading... and wants to be a screenwriter!

When working in public places like Barnes & Noble in Annandale's , I try to be discrete, for the comfort of my client as well as the shoppers and guests. These images were all made with available light and edited as usual in Lightroom.

BUT... this was just the first stop, our warm up! We hit about 4 other locations to make images for this dynamic kid.
