We have hundreds of lovely treasures that celebrate lavender and the calm and joy that comes with it. While you're here, check out the thousands of dried lavender bundles hanging in our drying barn. Our 16 varieties hanging from the rafters are a sight for the eyes, calming for the soul and

the scent - well - pretty incredible! Lavender blooms in early June, and 2023 you-pick and lavender bloom is June 2-18. We offer shopping, tours, crafting and more! At our gift shop you'll find beautiful lavender and lavender-inspired gifts, many made by us right here at the farm.

💜🌱 Lavender is a perennial! 🥰 Here’s “Hidcote” in its first, second and third year in our field.

In Missouri, and other cold weather regions, the most reliable and hardy lavender varieties are English varieties, or “Lavandula Angustifolia” varieties. English varieties typically fare better in the winter months and are less susceptible to damage from ice and cold temps. Lavender can survive 8 to 20 years, depending on the variety, and soil and climate conditions.

Also, we think the color of Hidcote buds STUNNING! Hidcote is one of the darkest purples on our field, and it’s multipurpose for aromatherapy, culinary, and crafting. We grow more than 200 Hidcote plants along with 2200 others. We feature 17 varieties of different size, color, taste and fragrance - come check it out!

👉 Open 9a-6p, 7 days a week, during our blue man you pick season. Starting June 16, our regular hours resume, 10 AM to 6 PM, seven days a week, all year round.

💜🌱😊 Announcing an extension to our bloom and lavender you-pick season! This wonderful experience at Missouri’s largest lavender farm is now extended through Sunday, June 15!

🪻 We learn more about lavender in Missouri every year, and this year, we noticed the plants were on track to start blooming at the same time they did last year. Then something unexpected happened, the continued mild weather has slowed the bloom cycle on a large portion of our field, so we want to invite you to continue to come visit for an additional week before we have to complete our harvest!

🥰 Come visit, explore and relax, and if your heart desires it, pick a bit of lavender!

🌱 Free admission and no need for reservations, just come on by!

🌱🤷‍♀️ Hoping you guys can help me out! I propagated way too many elderberries! I have 1 gallon pots for $5 and 2 gallon pots for $8. I have a selection at the shop that are ready to go and I’ve got lots more than you see here! And while the weather is changing, it is still fine time to plant elderberries!

🪻 I’ve also still got lots of wonderful lavender plants, though we’re starting to get a low on some of the varieties. I have Hidcote, Melissa (white lavender!), Melissa Lilac, Sussex, Phenomenal, Royal Purple, Buena Vista and a few Betty’s Blue and Avice Hill too!

💐 I’m also starting to put out some other plants that I’ve had in my greenhouse, some milkweed, tomatoes, peppers, celosia, zinnias, basil and oh my goodness, so many other things. I just need to put out there for you!

💜 And oh, by the way, the field is blooming! And you you can pick your own lavender! Lots of details at www.battlefieldlavender.com.

👉 We are open seven days a week, 9 AM to 6 PM, and starting June 10 our regular daily hours will resume, 10 AM to 6 PM, all year round.

A little about us...

We are Katie and Jason Lockwood. We started Battlefield Lavender in 2016 at our farm located just north of the historic Centralia Civil War Battlefield, which is about 25 minutes northeast of Columbia, Missouri.

When the field is in bloom, a spectacular array of pollinators visit our field, particularly in late spring and early summer, including butterflies, and honey and bumblebees.

We currently grow five varieties of lavender and plan on expanding our field to cover four acres in beautiful blues, purples, pinks and whites.
