BIG NEWS!
We are excited to officially announce our new technical theatre teacher, Rachel Robinson!! Ms. Robinson will teach our technical theatre classes and serve as the technical director for CHS Theatre productions. She brings a wealth of experience to CHS, and we are so fortunate to have her on our team!
STUDENTS:
If you are planning to attend the watch party tomorrow (6/29), you’ll have an opportunity to introduce yourselves and welcome Ms. Robinson prior to The Play That Goes Wrong. The scene shop doors will open at 12:30, and we’ll start the show at 1:00.
If you can’t make it tomorrow, stop by the scene shop during the CHS Open House on 8/10, and get ready for the CHS Theatre Kickoff on 8/19 at 3PM (Parent version 8/20 at 7PM).
MORE ABOUT MS. ROBINSON:
Rachel Robinson is a stage designer, artist, production manager, and educator from Dayton, OH.
She is a 2009 graduate of Centerville High School, in the first year of their CTE Technical Theatre program. She won the 2009 Critic’s Choice Award in Scenic Design at the International Thespian Festival for her design of A Doll’s House. She went on to achieve a B.F.A. in Scenic Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a M.A. from the Ohio State University in Workforce Development Education.
Ms. Robinson has worked with several local companies, including Dayton Opera, Magnolia Theatre Company, Human Race Theatre Company, TheatreLab Dayton, Dayton Playhouse, Town Hall Theatre, and Heidelberg University, filling a variety of roles including scenic designer, scenic artist, lighting designer, props/puppet designer, and technical director. She has also taught and designed in recent years at Stivers School for the Arts, the University of Dayton, and Earlham College. Recent credits: Beetlejuice Jr, The Glass Menagerie, Bon Appetit/The Cook-Off, Alice in Slasherland, Fledermaus Unmasked, When She Had Wings.
