I decided I needed to clean up my Platinum Lodging emails (my property management company) and although I have 5,000 emails to go through it made me think....
Wow!!! Looking at everything with pages and pages of old reviews.... it was 5 ⭐️ after 5⭐️ after 5⭐️
I really am proud of all those 5⭐️ reviews! Every now and then we have issues... it's not always rainbows and butterflies....
I am rebuilding my website for each location and will soon be taking direct bookings! Airbnb is making it harder and harder for hosts to have conversations on the platform, especially when you have a special kind of property.
For instance, when a guest has questions about what they can and can't do on the property, (especially the one we have on 371 acres in Centerville) the messages get blocked by Airbnb. And I do understand why... there are 2 reasons for this. #1 is to protect the hosts from the bad guys and #2 is to make sure you don't take a reservation off the platform because they should get their 3% commission. I do agree they should get their commission for many reasons but dang it... my guests want to talk to me about hosting their getaways and it is frustrating.
And because as a business owner I want complete control of my business, I will be transitioning to direct bookings, running ads and hiring a content creator for the different listings. I also happen to know a thing or two about SEO, ads, funnels and websites 🤷♀️
We are in conversation about adding a travel agency to our portfolio for Platinum Lodging and I would like for our company to specialize in luxury honeymoons (of course after they get married at our venue they need somewhere to go, right?)
so.... cheers to whatever happens in the future with our short term rental business / property management company.
