Exciting news for Centerton! Thank you Mayor Bill Edwards for finishing out your term strong and for reaching out to the Ravington to help move forward a plan for a crosswalk on Main!
A LOT OF EXCITING THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN CENTERTON!
A LOT OF EXCITING THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN CENTERTON!
I wanted to share some updates with our community because there is a lot of positive work taking place behind the scenes that will help shape Centerton for years to come.
🏢 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
First, I’m excited to announce that the City of Centerton is hiring an Economic Development professional, made possible through a grant the City received through FUSE.
This is a great opportunity for Centerton. This position will give us someone who can dedicate time to navigating our new Downtown Plan, identifying opportunities, working with potential businesses and developers, and helping attract additional businesses and investment to our community.
Our staff and I are constantly reaching out and looking for opportunities to bring new businesses to Centerton, and we have been successful. As our community continues to grow, having someone dedicated specifically to economic development will increase those opportunities even further.
🚶 SIDEWALK CONNECTIONS & CENTERTON CONNECT
We have also received grant funding to help make important sidewalk connections throughout our community.
The Centerton Connect plan is nearing completion, which will give us a roadmap for future pedestrian and connectivity projects. Once complete, we can begin moving projects forward and putting them out for bid.
🌳 80 ACRES OF NEW OPEN SPACE
The City recently received 80 acres of property, providing us with an incredible opportunity to create additional open-space amenities for our residents.
This gives future leaders and our community another opportunity to look at parks, trails, recreation and other amenities that can benefit Centerton for generations.
🚴 McKissic Trail – Phase 2
We are also beginning Phase 2 of the McKissic Trail, continuing our efforts to expand connectivity and provide additional opportunities for residents to walk, bike and enjoy the outdoors.
🏛️ OLD CITY HALL
Work is also beginning on the remodel of our old City Hall building, which will eventually provide space for a small library along with a retail shop inside the building.
💧 SEWER IMPROVEMENTS
And importantly, we continue to make significant investments in our wastewater infrastructure. Sewer upgrades are currently underway, addressing infrastructure needs and helping position Centerton for continued growth.
There is a lot happening in Centerton, and these projects represent just some of the opportunities currently in motion.
As I prepare to complete my time as mayor, I am proud that we have put so many important pieces in place. The next administration will have some great opportunities to continue building on this work and moving Centerton forward.
None of this happens without our employees. I want to sincerely thank our city staff for their dedication, hard work and commitment to Centerton. They work every day to serve our residents and help make these projects possible.
There is a lot to be excited about in Centerton, and I’m proud of the progress we continue to make together.
