The Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a multipurpose facility which hosts many different events throughout the year such as comedians, family shows, rodeos, high school sporting events, concerts and more. Ticket Office Hours for the Alliant Energy PowerHouse are:

VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids is seeking a full time professional for the position of Accounting Manager.

This position entails a variety of accounting and payroll responsibilities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, processing bi-weekly payroll. Additional duties include account reconciliations, enforcing purchasing procedures and other general financial tasks under the direction of the Finance Director.

Work hours and schedule are generally Monday – Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm but will vary with attendance during events and may include holidays, evenings and weekends.

Our Story

Built as the premier entertainment and convention facility in Eastern Iowa, the U.S. Cellular Center continues to host 190 event days a year including concerts, family shows, conventions, corporate meetings, sporting events, ice shows, rodeos, circuses and high school events. The facility is on the leading edge of bringing culturally rich, highly entertaining and visually stimulating events to the surrounding population.

Nestled in the densely populated corridor of Eastern Iowa, the U.S. Cellular Center draws event attendees from a population base of more than 1,000,000 people within a 100-mile radius. Event programming is carefully planned to appeal to a gamut of progressive tastes and traditional interests.

The U.S. Cellular Center opened as the Five Seasons Center on January 25, 1979. It was one portion of a three-part downtown project built in the late 1970’s that included the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel and Five Seasons Parkade. The project was funded through a newly created downtown TIF (tax-incremental finance) district and a bond issue.

After the flood of 2008, the facility closed for renovations in 2011. After 2 yrs of renovations and improvements the new U.S. Cellular Center Convention Center re-opened on June 1, 2013 with a sold-out concert by country megastars Lady Antebellum. The newly renovated complex now boasts an 9,000+ seat arena lined with concessions stands, 267 hotel rooms, 81,779 square feet of exhibit space, 12,359 square feet of ballroom space and 19,383 square feet of meeting room space.
