Nope, I won’t be at the market after dark tonight… I didn’t get my application in soon enough. I do have baked goods available for pick up today – my chocolate midnight cupcakes and the dot cakes that have coconut vanilla cake with raspberry filling and Swiss Marine buttercream… You can also pre-order my red velvet cheesecake brownies and the Dulce de Leche brownies for tomorrow pickup.

Nerdy Cakes will be at the farmers market next Saturday, September 5 – so I’ll see you all there!

Storm knocked our power out for 3 hours yesterday, so the Cookie Monster & Elmo cookies got pushed back — but that didn't stop the brownies. Sold out, stayed up making more, and while I was at it, a new flavor happened.

Introducing: Red Velvet Brownie Explosion — $5.50 (Premium, limited availability) 🐚
Red velvet cupcake filled with cream cheese frosting, topped with a big scoop of Swiss meringue buttercream loaded with chunks of red velvet cheesecake brownie, finished with a brownie piece on top.

Thank you again to everyone who showed up with support last weekend. Every like, share, forward - it turned a rough start into one of my best days yet, and it got me thinking I should be doing this more often. So starting today, I'll be posting what's fresh and ready whenever I have it. (i am sold out of Elmo and Cookie Monster cookies but they are coming!)

Yesterday's farmers market got cancelled just 3 minutes before we were supposed to be there. That one stung.
But then this community showed up — the likes, the shares, the orders that came pouring in. I actually ran out of inventory and was back in the kitchen late last night and again this morning to keep up.
If you're newer here: I'm a licensed at-home baker in SE Cedar Rapids, betting on myself after leaving corporate tech — the dream is staying home with my 6 kids for good. Small business odds aren't easy, and I know that. But yesterday reminded me why I'm trying anyway. Fingers crossed, and so much gratitude for everyone helping make the case for this to work.
Thank you doesn't feel like enough, but it's what I've got. 🚗🍪 (and yes, that's a pistachio kataifi macaron in my hand and it's SO good)

Today’s farmers market was cancelled — we got the email at 5:57 AM, after being up for hours packing the minivan with coolers full of macarons, red velvet cheesecake brownies, Elmo cookies, and (for the first time!) triple chocolate cupcakes. We were already on the road when the cancellation came through.
Everything is baked and ready, so if you’d like to place an order, message us here on Facebook or email us. We accept cash, Venmo and credit card- and you’re welcome to stop by for pickup — we’re on the southeast side, right off Mount Vernon Rd and Knollwood Dr SE.
If you’re looking to shop local this weekend, check your local Facebook groups. Many of us have extra inventory right now and the support would mean a lot. 💛
