All right, all you lucky people out there enjoying bike week. Joe and I are in the middle of another relocation that seems to be taking us forever. Couldn’t make Sturgis this year, but we will see you all there next year. Have fun, ride safely. Keep an extra eye out for all those texters! I personally believe the day they ruled out “talking” on cell phones upped our casualty list.

I just want to send out a quick message to everybody who vended and attended this year‘s motorcycle Swap Meet in Cedar Rapids. We so appreciate the vendors who come out to our shows year after year after year and we are equally grateful to all the attendees who do the same.  And welcome to all of you new attendees as well!

We know there’s less enthusiasm with the younger generations for rebuilding their own motorcycles and learning what makes them tick from the ground up, but fingers crossed that someday the desire for that depth of knowledge will return! The sense of accomplishment when you build and work on your bike rather than paying someone in a shop to do it provides a special type of satisfaction.  The ride is the prize, but everything that comes before it is a huge part of the culture.

Pray for the 6 Army soldiers and the 6 Air Force airmen killed in the current operation. We need to suck it up and quit complaining about higher gas prices. It is a small sacrifice to make. We paid more during the last four years. The last four Presidents have all said Iran must not get a nuclear weapon. We are now doing something about it. Our gas prices are high because we are dependent on Newsome's CA gas taxes and the added RTC charge.

Just 6 days until the best parts meet in the Midwest… At least as far as I’m concerned… Is here! We sure hope you all will come out and check out all the great vendors. If you need a part for your bike, I can’t imagine you wouldn’t be able to find it at this meet. And if you don’t need any parts, then just come out to say hi, grab a beer from the concession and visit with a bunch of like-minded people!

It's getting closer!! Reserve your spots early to be sure you get them. with eliminating Rock Island this year, things are booking up!
