The Atlanta Hawks traded forward Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, July 19, 2026, as part of a major three-team transaction. The deal also involved the Oklahoma City Thunder, who sent All-Defensive wing Lu Dort to Atlanta in exchange for multiple second-round draft picks.

Instead, the French forward spent his entire pre-NBA career playing professionally in Europe.The Journey to the NBAHigh School / College Equivalent: Born in Spain but raised in France, Risacher joined the youth academy of the French club ASVEL Basket at age 15. He skipped the traditional American collegiate system entirely, signing a professional contract with ASVEL's senior team in 2021.Pre-Draft Breakthrough: For the 2023–24 season, he was loaned to French club JL Bourg. He enjoyed a breakout season, averaging 11 points per game and shooting 39% from three-point range while leading the team to the EuroCup Finals.Draft Position: He was selected No. 1 overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2024 NBA Draft, following in the footsteps of countryman Victor Wembanyama as the second straight French player to be taken first overall.
