Back from Chicago!!! 🏙️

Got to see a favorite artist and visit family while we were in the city and take a little getaway before a busy month of August 📸 We’ve got some weddings and travel taking up most of our weekends coming up but we’re looking forward to the month and enjoying the beauty of our house for as long as we can 😋

New house on the market 🥹💛🏡

Normally we don’t post our real estate photos on the page to respect privacy of the homeowners because (usually) it’s not our home or our listing… HOWEVER this is our home and it is officially listed so we’ll post it 😜

That house looks so good in photos and I can’t lie she looks great on Zillow too ✨ Cicada is expanding to include all of Iowa and we’re looking to see where we might like to have a new base 🥰 still servicing the Cedar Valley and all of northern Iowa but we figure if we’re already driving around Iowa for shoots throughout the week we might as well see what a new base of operations looks like for us! Happy anniversary to us and happy 4th to everyone else 🙃🎆
6 years ago Evan and I both had the day off and got together for drinks and then we just never stopped hanging out ❤️🤍💙 saptastic of me to say, but I am so consistently and deeply knowing this is my person - he is all of the things I’ve been asking for my entire life and from this day 6 years ago I knew he was the one I wanted for this life. He is so so so good to me and in such a generous, patient and committed way… I love the opportunity to explore this life alongside him.

Spending the day today editing and then we’re gunna do what we did 6 years ago - bar hop on Main and maybe we’ll squeeze in a bike ride to some of our fav spots in Waterloo (if they’re open haha)

Kiddos at the Cicada House 😭☀️🌈 one thing about family sessions with us - I’m ALWAYS going to suggest a big open space where all the kids can run around; candids forever 💫 Plus at the end of the day all the kids are tired lol

The garden does require a lot of my attention and upkeep but it’s alwayyys worth it when I see the bees and the kiddos enjoying all the beautiful flowers 🌻💐🌸

Graduation weekend ✨🥲🎓

My beautiful cousin had her 19th birthday and graduation party at The Cicada House this weekend and it was a huge success thanks to all the fam for doing so much prep work to make this day spectacular 🥲

The way we show up for each other in this family has truly given me appreciation I cannot describe. Without getting into details too much… a little less than a month ago my grandma had a fall and we’ve been staying with her in turns, taking care of her, watching Sound of Music non stop and praying for her healing and wellness 💛 hardest thing I’ve ever experienced, seeing someone I love in pain and not being able to take that pain away. There aren’t enough lovely words in the words to describe that woman and how much I love my Grandma Linda 😭 her strength and patience in this experience makes me so proud, my family’s ability to show up for her and hold space makes me appreciative and grateful beyond words. I love this family and I’m so overwhelmed by the grace and strength they have and I’m so honored to be a part of it.

Our life has been a whirlwind lately but has given us so much to be joyful and appreciative for in the family we have 💛 I think we’re getting to the spot of appreciating the entire experience but there is still some healing to go - keeping her wellness in your thoughts and prayers means more to us than you know!

Might be late to a 2023 recap but it was appropriately recycled for a valentines post. 🤣💖💃🏻

I can’t express enough all of the ways 2023 was so good for us; we had the opportunity to shift our clientele and our content to more creative work, we got the chance to scale back our company to the two of us which gave a huge sense of relief and clarity, we focus on the relationship between the two of us and began setting the groundwork for a solid foundation for our last year before marriage AND we set our sights to a very exciting and expansive future.

Truly haven’t been on instagram or facebook because it felt like something we had to do rather than what we wanted to do.
We have nothing to sell or promote to our followers, we have nothing to share to you but our happiness, joy and contentment; there is little to no pleasure from these apps so we haven’t been indulging them 💖 I think your late 20’s/early 30’s is when you really begin to realize that’s ok and even as a business owner… we would rather discover what apps we enjoy using then feeling like we need to present ourselves on the apps we don’t enjoy.

I can share what we have enjoyed offline:
✈️ Trips and travel alongside one another; Evan is the easiest person to travel with and he is so accommodating to me in every stage of travel.
🫶 New people and places; we’ve made more friends, connections and opportunities than ever before in areas we may not have previously considered or visited.
💞 Discovering each other on deeper levels of understanding, awareness and love. I do love prioritizing our relationship with each other in everything we do 😭💛

There is so much more like life, nature, family, food, inspiration, and creation but you get it - I love life, love Evan, love living life with him, I just love this life so much… and yes I do think I like this little life 👀

Hope all the realtors had an amazing time at the NEIBOR golf event yesterday ✨⛳️🍻

Here’s our cute little Cicada stand and some behind the scenes from yesterday! As well as our first post back from a summer hiatus from social media 😜😜 ya’ll it has been LOVELY to be offline but just to do a little check in from Evan and I….. 😋

1. Business is going great! We were fully booked for weddings this summer and are looking forward to a calmer Fall season 💍📸 (maybe lol.. we’ll see)

2. Wedding planning for us is going well 🥹💛 we set our date for 5.25.25 and chose a rooftop venue in Iowa City for our spot!

3. We have both been biking, walking and exploring outside more often and it’s been nice to be moving and grooving together this summer 😎🌞

4. Manny is still the center of our lives and a perfect son.

5. We are so happy to be soaking in every moment of this stage of life. Late 20’s and the beginning of 30’s has been the best so far ✨💞 loving and trusting the universe for everything it has in store!

Hope everyone had the best summer! Now on to the very best season…. The Spooky one 😈🎃👻🧙‍♀️🕸️💀
