Flower Fact Friday 🌸
Meet the stars of today’s bouquet and the little secrets they carry:
Stock – Not only does stock add soft ruffles to arrangements, it’s famous for its sweet, clove-like fragrance that florists love because it makes bouquets smell amazing.
Protea – One of the oldest flowering plants on Earth, proteas date back nearly 300 million years, making them a true botanical survivor.
Hypericum – Often recognized by its bright berries, hypericum is part of the St. John’s Wort family and is prized in floral design for adding texture and pops of color.
Sunflower – Sunflowers naturally track the sun across the sky, a phenomenon called heliotropism, which helps them grow strong and tall.
Thistle – Though spiky, thistle symbolizes strength, protection, and resilience, which is why it’s famously the national symbol of Scotland.
P***y Willow – These fuzzy buds are actually early spring catkins, making p***y willow one of the first plants to bloom after winter.
✨ Nature is full of tiny wonders—sometimes the prettiest bouquets carry the coolest stories.
