Being a mother was something I could never quite envision for myself.

In the long list of things I wanted to accomplish in my time on this earth, being a mother was never counted out; it was just never truly counted on. I had dreams to chase and goals to achieve.

But you know how they say, you make plans and God laughs? Well, the man upstairs has been having a good chuckle for quite some time now.

The past ten months have been a big, beautiful blur. Between moving into our forever home, getting engaged, and closing the studio, I felt like I wanted to keep something special just for me.

Becoming a mother was just that.

For the past ten months, I grew an entire human, had my busiest year yet, moved, traveled, learned to trust myself, learned to trust my body, and leaned into the incredible love surrounding me. And for that, I will be eternally thankful.

This pregnancy was so good to me, and the biggest reason for that is Brendan. I can never thank him enough for what he has given me. He carried both of us for ten months, never letting me forget that not only am I exceptionally capable, but that I am endlessly loved. He showed me what it means to be a devoted partner and father, what it truly feels like to be loved, and reminded me that I, too, can do great things.

Knowledge is power, and somehow over the years, I have gained so much wisdom about becoming a parent. From my friends who have shared their children with me, to my clients who have shared their lives with me, to the business I built around children and newborns, the mothers who walked into my studio and openly shared their birth stories, answered my never-ending questions, talked about parenting styles, postpartum hardships, and what real life with children looked like. Without even realizing it, you all gave me the courage to do something I never thought I could do.

To become a mom.

After 30 hours of labor, on July 18, 2026, at 6:25 a.m., I brought Kiera Grace into this world. .38 Special’s "Caught Up in You" was playing over the speakers as she was placed on my chest, and our lives were forever changed.

If you notice over the next two months that emails are going out a little slower, galleries are taking a little longer, and texts are being left unanswered, please know that I am settling into this magnificent new journey. I’ll be back in full swing come September, and over the next few weeks I’ll be announcing my fall schedule for full sessions and minis.

Things will look a little different for the remainder of this year, but I have no doubt that we’ll adjust, find our rhythm, and continue doing what we love.

Now, if you need me, I’m going to be home soaking in allllllll the newborn snuggles because, like I’ve always told my clients, they only stay this little for so long. 😉

There is something so special about choosing a location that feels like you.

When Autumn suggested wandering through the beautiful Stone Manor Boutique Inn in Lovettsville, I was immediately on board. Every room held its own personality, giving us a new story to tell with every turn. We spent the evening exploring hidden corners, chasing beautiful light, and creating images that felt as unique as they are.

That's why I always say your location matters!!! Whether it's a mountaintop, your favorite coffee shop, your home, or a charming boutique inn, the right place becomes part of your story. It makes your photos feel authentic.

Because they're a reflection of you.

This session was so much fun from beginning to end, and these two absolutely shined. Thank you, Autumn, for dreaming up this location. I couldn't imagine this session anywhere else.

One of the things I'll never take for granted is getting to call Virginia home.

To my west, I have the Blue Ridge Mountains. To my east, one of the most iconic cities in the world. While making the drive into DC can definitely test your patience, every single time I arrive, I'm reminded why it's worth it.

There is something so magical about watching the city wake up at sunrise...when it's just me, my couple, and quiet streets that feel like they belong only to us. And then there's sunset, when golden light catches every building, the city glows, and the energy of thousands of people fills every corner.

This session absolutely warmed my soul, especially because it took place at one of my favorite locations: the Library of Congress. The timeless architecture, intricate details, and undeniable elegance make it one of the most breathtaking places to tell a love story. Every visit leaves me inspired, and every gallery feels like a piece of art.

I feel incredibly lucky to have mountains, cityscapes, and endless adventure all within reach. There truly is no place I'd rather be photographing love stories.

This engagement session definitely crossed one off of my photographers bucket list! I was so trilled to plan this beautiful session with Karla. And look how stinking cute they are! Obsessed.

Another reason why incorporating what you love into your photographs is the right idea 😉

Do you have a magical idea of your own? Let's talk!!!!

Sarah and Ben are the kind of people you gravitate towards. So in love, always laughing, adventurous souls.

Earlier in the year, I was looking for couples to do out of the ordinary photoshoots with. Less smile and pose, more real life, real feelings, and doing things unique to each couple! Sarah reached out, told me that she does pottery and not only that but has pottery studio at her house!

Obviously, this was exactly what I was looking for.

The pottery studio amazed me. It was such a welcoming place, had great light, filled with an artistic vibe all around. What I was even more impressed with is that Sarah's pottery pays for the studio. With every piece she sells, little bit little, she adds to her space. You know I love a girl with a plan!

We had SUCH a fun session. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Real love. Real life. Authentic to them.

I am dying to do more sessions like these, so if you have an idea, please reach out! Anything is on the table, but some ideas include:

-Dirt bikes / ATVs
-Fishing
-Paddlebording
- Horseback riding
- Rock climbing

Please give Sarah's pottery page a follow! Her work is so creative and is a wonderful addition to any home!
